Yup. I have a Pixel, but if I had to upgrade right now I'd definitely go Samsung. Nobody likes the notch, and I don't really remember anyone wanting no bezel at all. Yeah, if they could pull it off with sensors built in, yeah, that'll be cool, but too then the slim bezels on Samsung phones is really nice. I actually prefer a but if a bezel since I watch a lot of KZbin on play games on my phone.

@BTICronox from where I live , Samsung has a lot more presence. Not to mention, they are hurting themselves with silly decisions. They launched their this year flagship with last year's sd835 if I'm not wrong. Also their skin is too childish and they know it. Motorola, Nokia, Oneplus, Asus(Zenfone) have all shifted to vanilla android, and that's the best thing they can do as well since they are the only other company which have really good oled displays. But again, I have not seen much from lg where I live, basically their last known flagship that went decently big was the g4. They don't launch the v series everywhere.

Hi Lewis, I'm a Pixel 2 XL user. Very happy with the camera but hesitant to upgrade to the 3 XL for notched reasons. It looks like the camera hardware isn't that much improved between 2 XL and 3 XL, it's mostly software from what I see. Having installed the now available APK of the Pixel 3 camera on my Pixel 2 it does look the pictures are even better. BUT! A friend of mine installed the APK on his OP6 running Pie and now his pictures are even better than mine. Sure, that camera app limits his 16mp to 12mp shots, but the quality is definitely better in our tests. If true, I don't need a Pixel 3 and nobody does in order to take these great shots.

The "notch" is effective use of space. If you increase the bezel to hold the cameras, you still push the notification bar into the usable screen space. But sticking extra screen above the usable area specifically for the notifications, it effectively keeps info up out of the way.

That would be a wise decision. Buy a 6t (whenever it comes) and people who are into photography buy a lens for your mirrorless/ DSLR with the saved money. This stock Google thing also doesn't make any sense as pixel 2 showed how little Google care for long term performance. ONLY OnePlus cares about long term performance with their awesome version of Android. My 5t after almost a year feels snappy like day 1 unlike the pixel 2 XL (which is exactly 6 month old) which stutters at times (absolutely random) And I'm an average user who doesn't baby their phones

I think what is really disturbing me is the chin,usually I get used to notches while using the device. However I still like an S9+ or note 9 display without any notch,but how apple is handling the chin is awesome. I really want Samsung and google to make there chins as small as apple's

Mega Xz Apple folds the lower end of the OLED panel under it self so they don’t need a chin for the screen ribbons to get to the motherboard. That folding technique is another reason the new IPhone are so expensive.
