Season 1 is definitely the worst one (but not bad) but trust me, this show gets so much better. Please stick with it! Not sure if you know what metacritic is, (kind like rotten tomatoes, collects reviews from all over and averages a score) season 1 is got like a 60, and seasons 2-6 all got around a 90.

First season is the weakest, I remember stopping half way through it. I resumed watching later on and couldn't stop because not only the characters are much better developed and used, but even if the tone gets really dark it never goes so hard that it becomes monotone and depressing, there's always room for funny moments and they never really clash since they know how to present them and are never at odds with the drama.

As you've probably been told, the first season is by far the weakest. Around half way through the first season, the show becomes much closer to how it is for the rest of the seasons. You seem to be enjoying it so I hope you stick with it long enough to see it turn into a masterpiece

Did you like it ? Just know that the first season of BJ is the worst of the whole series according to all the ranking sites with 60 % of success. All the others hit the 100 % score.
