I saw the comment below and I was going to suggest the same thing, the online auction we use to pick up some items sells a lot of mismatched stuff in “ mystery boxes “ they usually do pretty good. They just mark them “ kitchen “ or personal items Costume jewelry and they always sell . Broken jewelry lots also go pretty good if it’s a large lot by the pound online. New subscriber by the way , we have been looking into some buy outs in our area . Thanks for the ideas!

I think a sale like this would do good on almost any day of the weekend as long as you do proper advertising. Great stuff Resale Rabbit, we had a huge blow out estate sale at a huge estate I purchased and we did one of the largest takes ever since being a reseller we ran the sale Friday, Sat and Sunday and made over 18k in three days. The entire estate cost me $10k and i was able to find tons of good stuff that will be online for sale in our ebay store probably another $7-9k easy in ebay stuff. I love reselling and i see that you do as well lol.

Do you scan your DVD's or CD's with any of the apps? I've been just scanning CD's and DVD's and when they come back as a buy price of over $1, I pick em up for instant profit, and $2 to $3 buy prices generally indicate they are worth listing on eBay. I've ended up selling some weird ones/rare ones for quite a bit. Fringe CD's sell really well, obscure DVD's sell really well, but here's a tip for the viewers. "Cookie's Fortune" on DVD. Don't ask me why. Right now I'm using Declutter, but have been experimenting with another scanning app scans for multiple platforms that are buying, and it's called Bonavendi. It's honestly one of the best things I started doing at thrift stores and yard sales. I used to just make offers on tubs of media, but now I only pick up the ones that are profitable and I skip the work of looking them all up at home and listing them for literally ever. I don't understand people who sell a DVD for $4 shipped on eBay. Don't you have something more profitable to do with your time?
@ResaleRabbit
@ResaleRabbit 5 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to check that app out! The $4 dvd sellers do volume. Thousands of units per day. They get special rates with usps so they end up making a couple bucks on each one. Same deal as penny book sellers on amazon.

I watched “Treasure Hunting with Jebus” go through a couple hundred DVD’s on de clutter. Most of them were worth about 21 cents. Only about one third of them were salable at all. She got $8.43. I wouldn’t have spent my t8me on that.
@tomleech9753

@@christinerobinson890 Must have been very unlucky. I've made thousands of dollars using declutter and secondspin to scan for DVDs and CD's worth listing, and which have buylist values over the cost of purchase.

You shouldn’t have to pay sales tax on second hand items , as sales tax should have already been paid when it was first purchased. We don’t have sales tax here in the UK , we have VAT ( value added tax ). That is only charged when the item is purchased new , from stores etc. I don’t think they should be allowed to get tax more than once for the same item.

Awe man, everything would be gone here because a lot of people cross the border to resell back in Mexico. If it’s a $1 they will get everything, all those racks of clothes would be empty here no matter how many times you restock. Makes me want to start a $1 sale but I don’t have the traffic like you nor do I have a storage to stock. Would be great though.

Suggestion.... you might offer items separately.. like next weekend offer plumbing supply 1 day, next is school supplies. So you get ppl specifically there for those items. Or put them both out. Plumbing stuff is hard to sell unless local shops or DIY ppl know what to do. They tend to go to LOWES, HOME DEPOT etc.. not a $ 1 sale. Lol.. so you need to make it known. Or call someone local and see if they are interested. Seriously. But get those school supplies out there. Like run a cpl or dew Saturdays into school seasons, before Xmas etc.

I’m not sure why someone said they’re not a charity, but they are. They help people find jobs and give job training. They’re even classified as a charity with the IRS. That said, they do price items high because they’re not meant to help the less fortunate get cheap items (they are just a fund raiser for their mission) and the their board takes very high salaries, but that’s expected for a ceo of such a large company with a lot of locations.

People pay with $20's because that's what comes out of a cash machine. Not many ATMs let you choose your denomination and when the do, people just take the default 20s.

Dollar sales should be every week since it was so successful.

Part of the reason it was successful is because I don’t do them often. It makes it more of an event and draws more people in

Rounding down, you made about $5K over three days. Not bad. Maybe do the same sale twice a month. Even if you did half as much 26 times a year, that is $65K profit.

Think hes gotta collect and organize shit that he can sell for a good profit and the shit he cant. Might take a while to get enough stuff to make it worth while. No point doing it twice a month if its complete trash. People will stop going.

They are for all B2C sales in Europe. Given that most people can't do basic math, that's probably a good thing.

@Taylor It's all about that inventory.. I spend every dime I make on inventory and yet I still don't have enough to keep myself busy enough. Hopefully that'll change in the next 6 months. It's all about knowing what is worth your time though, and what is a waste.

@ResaleRabbit

I did that once. The second week was awful. What really helps these sales is that it’s an event, not a regular thing.

I don't even remember how I started following you but I swear I thought you had like a thrift store you were opening. Like years ago. anyway I watch I think an earlier video and it reminded me of when I was 22 years old and I owned a storefront downtown Los Angeles and I would say yeah I haven't showered in 48+ hours, I just want to go home and shower and freshen up. and I always told myself don't lay down because you'll lay down and go to sleep and you won't wake up for 3 days. I also would buy from REI the rinseless shampoo and bodywash it's like for campers truckers. And that shit really works and it actually makes you feel clean. it's even good just to have if you want to just do a quick run over your armpits and man parts. You feel so much better and so much cleaner and then you don't have like odor whiffing by your nose. This sounds so gross but you know what I'm talking about. Or the general odor that you get sometimes when you eat certain foods. like I used to eat this like chicken place by my store and every time I ate it my skin like smells like vinegar and it would be so nasty. Well just a quick run over with that solution you never smelled that again.

So is this just dead inventory you're clearing out? I can understand it if you've already paid for the lot/batch these items came from, but if not you have to factor in a cost, plus pay your employee, plus your time. Is there any real profit?
@ResaleRabbit
@ResaleRabbit 5 жыл бұрын
Other than the DVDs and CDs, this is mostly dead inventory. Stuff that I have no way to sell otherwise and would normally give to goodwill. And I did mention payroll at the end of the video.
