You know what, this has inspired me to continue my blender journey, thank u. Edit 1: I have now been working on my first donut for 12 hours in one sitting, I'm on part 11 of the tutorial now. (This is my 5th attempt the last year, ive messed up or given up before part 2 every time before). It's 8 am now and I'm very tired so I'm gonna go sleep for a little bit then I'll finish it when I wake up, goodnight!

SO CUTE, also I loved your editing! So, there is actually a fix for the MToon outlines on the head. You need an outline sampler texture map, so basically, you just paint a texture map on your character's face that will dictate the outline strength based on the color value, so if you paint the eyes and mouth in black it will assign the value of 0, so no outlines, and leave it as white everywhere else that you want outlines, or grey if you want something in-between, once you're done you just have to throw it in the Width texture map slot.

I'm a game art student and I make 3D models and I think what you are doing is definitely close to it, therefore I think you could find a lot of helpful videos about retopology to make you mesh easier to cut and have a clean map for your UVs. it takes a bit of time but it will make everything flow much better and it's easier to work with since you will only end up with quads or triangles. Love your video~♥

You as an artist, struggles with what makes you see the model as right or what looks good and that you'd recommend to people as "what I think you'd look great in". Look into star placements for topology and deformation/skinning tutorials. We tend to hide junctions of 5 or more intersecting verts in areas that wont deform too much, follow topology flow, and/or break those junctions into 3 intersecting verts or less. One of the problems with uv wrapping blender in particular is really bad at doing it and its really painful as a result to get it right in comparison to maya but the issue with maya is it costs way toooo much even though its really good. Ive been trying to find a good addon too help with blenders uv un wrapping but most addon arent free so you cant just even test them unfortunately, the best tool i found to help with uv unwrapping is one that adds a rainbow checkered map which basically helps you check if the uv maps align correctly and find unwanted texture warping so if you can find that addon i would recommend it or finding a free image of a checkered texture map, its a very standard practice to use it in 3d modeling and save you time and headaches

Sadly with how much time these models take to make a step by step guide would take like 130 dedicated videos to just guide you step by step through it ;w; I decided on this formatting so that I can try to explain important things for each part without making extremely long videos. I might try to do streaming the process of making these in the future, so you would be able to get a in real time making experience as well as a consise video with just tips here and there!
