Beautiful setup for a beautiful frog 🌿🐸! Loved your emphasis on substrate quality/ ingredients + adding beneficial bacteria. It’s something most people overlook! Soil undergoes a nitrogen cycle just like aquariums do!

Very cool Tree Frog and looks like a comfortable, well built ecosystem home for the frog too, great job. I have aquatic frogs, but they're not nearly as much of a challenge as maintaining this cool set up.

Ok that is to small for a RETF, i have them myself and I would not have them in lower then 36 inch so exo terra 24” x 18” x 36 would be great. And so mutch more big leaf plants, thats not enough.

Could this enclosure be suitable for a whites tree frog? I know that certain plant types require certain substrate + temp + humidity levels, but I really love your design! Is it possible to use a similar lay out on a 24 x 18 x 18 enclosure?
@Grzegorz_D27 күн бұрын
setup great but bathroom sink drain might need roto rooter soon🙂
@gamers78002 жыл бұрын
How many frogs can you safely house in this setup. Do tree frogs sleep all day or are they activate? By the way do you ever think of breeding your frogs, tadpoles are fascinating .
@AurelioDabdoub-po2mg10 ай бұрын
Aw that frog looks so cute I think you need to breed them because animals don't like to be alone
@LukeMcGuireoides Жыл бұрын
Wow, that soil is literally crawling with invertebrates! It looks like too many. Is it? Like, will the substrate be able to sustain that amount?
@LukeMcGuireoides Жыл бұрын
You added more!!😂
@TroyGoldberg2 жыл бұрын
Nice video…. Just so you know, most frogs absolutely hate when substrate sticks to them… red eye tree frogs are one of the pickiest when it comes to conditions and cleanliness… you’re going to want to find a way to keep the frog From getting all that substrate stuck to it.
@kaylaroach2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the advice Troy! I appreciate that so much! I’m glad you mentioned it. I’ll put a heavy layer of leaf litter over the soil to prevent that from happening! 😊🐸
@TroyGoldberg2 жыл бұрын
@@kaylaroach yea that’s would be for the best… also some sort of water dish would help greatly as well… water dish’s should be cleaned daily and replenished with fresh water every night for red eyes.

This is such a beautiful set up! I am wondering though, did you only use sphagnum moss to plant the suspended pothos and bromeliad since they aren’t in soil?
@itzsnipz Жыл бұрын
What is wrong with the fertilizers that are in the plants i put a plant in my tank without taking the old dirty out shouldn't i be worred about that its been in for about a week and it doesn't seem to have done anything bad but i definitely remember seeing the fertilizer balls

Great video Kayla! Easy to follow :). Question, can you tell me something about the sound volume they produce? Are they really loud at night? Do you still sleep well :p? Might need to inform my neighbours before setting up. Thanks a lot!

Where do yall buy these frogs because i watched another video to do research on how to take care of a tree frog before i buy one but uhhhh can't buy one if i can't find out how to buy them

Really cool looking Red eye and really like the set up. I got my first 1st, 2 weeks ago and is still so small but looking to start a build on a bigger home for it soon. I found this video interesting as you used the tank I was considering. What moss do you use? I have no luck with moss in my Dart frog tanks and your moss looks amazing really jealous lol :) New to your channel but will subscribe and the way you did the video I think was really good :)

I’ve loved red eye tree frogs since I was a kid, but have no idea where to start with having one as a pet, how did you learn about creating such a healthy environment for them?

I loved your video and setup! How do you get the pothos to grow in a cork log with no soil? I'm new to plants and would love to know!
@kaylaroach2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words. Also, what a great question! I actually packed the cork tube with soil and lots of sphagnum moss! Pothos is an extremely hardy plant, which worked in my favour for this setup! 😊🌱

Ok question do black eyed tree frogs need the same environment as a red eyed one because I am getting one and it costs quite a bit and I need to know what ti get
@kaylaroach Жыл бұрын
I’m not familiar with the husbandry requirements for Black Eyed Tree Frogs. I’m sure there are some similarities to Red Eyed Tree Frogs, but I would suggest doing extensive research in order to be best prepared for the exact species you plan on getting! 😊🐸

What topsoil do you use?
@kaylaroach Жыл бұрын
I’ve used many different brands of topsoil from garden centres, hardware stores, etc. I don’t stick with one brand in particular! They have all worked great, the most important part is to sift through the soil and remove any pieces of plastic or unwanted debris.

Is a 12x12x18 enclosure too small for a pair of tree frogs I know they are slightly on the bigger side and dart frogs might be better
@kaylaroach2 жыл бұрын
I think a 12x12x18 is a good size for a pair! An 18x18x24 would be great too if you want to have more room for plants, branches, etc. 😊
