I like how the most powerful 'final bosses' in video games are not some one winged angel of destruction like Sephiroth, not a master trainer like Cynthia, not a calamitous duo like Ornstein and Smough (who weren't even included). Instead, it is a bunch of red and blue boxes and a man with a beard that sucks at tennis. All because they require you to actually move.

As someone who’s done a similar style of editing to what’s in RT’s videos, it’s really impressive. The editing alone isn’t hard, but doing it for such a long video so fast is very impressive, you need a lot of mental stamina to edit 4 hours of videos, much less in around the 8 hours I’d say she had to complete this.

When he played Undertale, he did it out of order to spite them, then from what I hear he was critical of certain elements of the theme/narrative. Which is equivalent to watching a show in the order of Season 4, then the first three, then criticizing it. It comes off as a bad faith criticism.

Random nobody who has a skill score so high in wii boxing that it goes off the chart and off the top of the screen here! Matt reacts to everything so inhumanly fast that your best bet to land hits is to use the only form of gaining significant frame advantage given to the player: extremely close dodges slow down the clock for a moment, but grant a massive advantage in that time to the one who dodges. Tryin to do the fight without slips is nigh impossible.

While I am no pro, I am very proud of what I can do in rhythm games, and this looks harder than what I have cleared in console/phone. @@Ivan-fy3prI don’t know if it’s more impressive than it is a display of how new he is to the game. RCTTS is easy if you have some basic understanding of reading and using your wrists. It shouldn’t take more than three attempts for someone who’s been playing for 5 months.

@@Zarkyun RT likely had some of the games open ahead of time but for a speedrun you would need a file to load, so for each game Deltarune: I think there's a SAVE point right before Spamton. World of Light: Just after Master Hand Pokemon: Right next to the PWT receptionist. Wii Sports: We see RT reload this one. Requires a lot of setup hence the need to provide save files to all runners. PVZ idk Mario and Luigi, there's no way you can't save right before that. Hollow Knight I think you would start at the bench in the Hall of Gods on the same floor as NKG. Animal Crossing we also see RT load. FF7R I think you can save anywhere, unless there's other bosses before Sephiroth. Beat Saber oh dear god help them

I gotta say, even having lost it at the end of the song, your performance on Reality Check Through The Skull is an impressive display of how far you've come, even if it was practiced. That map's a physical and rhythmical endurance test lasting a good what, five minutes or so? @@PurpleSaturn726 The thing with the Ursula quest is that you're supposed to do it gradually over the course of the game. However, that's only really possible if you randomly gacha pull her early. The gacha rates for most of the Blades are randomly picked from a list at the start of each save file, and there's a 2/5 chance she becomes one of the rarest blades in the game, with one of those having her as only 2.5x more common than the RAREST PULL IN THE GAME. This was SUPPOSED to be mitigated by the Pity Blade system. On the save file where she's the second-rarest pull in the game, she was SUPPOSED to be one of the three guaranteed early pulls. However, due to a programming error, a DIFFERENT set of blades are the pity blades, so on that save file type, she's almost certainly going to be one of the last Blades you pull, making her quest absolutely abysmal.

That ending got me. First I'd wondered if we'd see another first try sans win all video because of the thumbnail, but by the time Sephiroth took the stage I figured sans was just there as an iconic boss. Then Dan came back on to hype up the real final and I had no guesses. When he mentioned Daisy and how hard this would be I was fully well expecting him to spend 15 minutes struggling to admit Daisy is a good character. Which would likely have been funny enough to accept as a finale. Then we woke up in _Beat Saber_ and again I was baffled. What could he be planning? Finally between the second and third of those three note beats at the start of the song I recognized the track and the "There's no way," hit me. _Reality Check Through the Skull_ was one hell of a closing act. And let me say, that Beat Saber map is _terrible_ so making it to the final run was still a hell of a good show Dan.

14:14 "I'm not sure why that has such an effect on him" It's because Sakurai is amazing and translated this fight really REALLY well from Monster Hunter into Smash. Rathalos is known as "The King of the Skies" and spends a lot of time in the air during his fights. There's an item known as Flash bombs which basically act like Deku Nuts by stunning and blinding the monster for a bit. If you use this while he's flying he's knocked down for a long time. It's a common strat for a lot of flying monsters, but Rathalos especially gets hit pretty hard by it because he's in the air so much

Holy crap that Beatsabering was incredibly impressive, even the first run that failed. My old uni had some vr headsets with Beatsaber on them, and I probably played it for around 5+ hours a week for months. Got to the point where I held every single song record on the headset (though idk how many other people were using it, so that might not be saying much). I attempted the same song RT did and could never make it through the initial gauntlet

GOD DAMN. I GREATLY admire the fact that RT's teased a lot for lack of rhythm and then picked like. The hardest song on a tough ass rhythm game to be his personal final boss. Can't wait for it to be continued :D genuinely a hopeful start to the year

It's the easiest way to beat him imo. Funny seeing that he developed the exact same strategy I did. Really needs sharp shadow to work though, but once you get the flow of it you can beat him hitless like that easily

Gonna have to politely disagree with our methods then, I find it much easier to basically always do a small jump for most of his attack, and depending on the pattern, adapt (either pogo on him, dash, or something else). It feels pretty consistent for me. But hey, to each their own ways to play to be honest !

not only is this the best video on the channel, this is a perfect encapsulation of RT's channel and is officially my favorite stream of his. the confusion with spamton and the realization leading up to the marathon that is world of light. the jokes about steven beating his boyfriend to face off against you in pokemon. the chaos of matt appearing AGAIN while "you will know our names" blasts in the background. the history lesson with PVZ, bowser's inside story, and sephiroth. the beauty of hollow knight and the pure comedy in including animal crossing. and perhaps one of the biggest enemies of the channel, one that will never leave and will plague rtgame's history for years: rhythm a masterpiece of a stream, a video, and an experience. thank you RT and cloe
