You might remember commenting on a scuffed tutorial/showcase with no dialogue that I had on my channel, well I unlisted the video because I wasn't that proud of it and had been using text boxes because talking alone in a room is still quite awkward for me but the whole reason I made that video was because I really wanted this website to become more wide spread. It was quite the ambitious goal with me and my 2 subscribers to promote something but GO really has just has made the game so much more enjoyable for me, I would be jumping through hoops trying to decide what artifacts to use on who but now it's something I don't have to worry about at all. Massive thanks to everyone who brought this to life.

It's nice to finally know a bit more about the story behind GO. Been using the tool for over a year now and I have to say it's been incredibly useful! I'm not a programmer but I wish you all the best with the upcoming challenges!

Before I discovered GO, I tried myself in making spreadsheets and was stuck figuring out how to solve all the permutations. Unfortunately I lack the skills in programming, so I'm glad that you developed such a much needed and user friendly website that does even more. Thank you very much! And Genshin devs: TAKE NOTES!

As computer science guy myself, I also wrote some tools to compute stuff for me, but GO is just better in every possible way, and seeing the lineup of devs, I'm positive no single person could top that. Thank you for all you've done :) (I also do not have time to spare for stuff like this anymore, so it's nice to have you guys giving a thousand+ of accumulated work hours to all the people like that)

This site used to be such a gamechanger for me Thank you so much again. I haven't used the optimizer since I formatted my pc and forgot to backup my database. Haven't needed it either because I just do abyss with Neuvilette and Nahida Hyperbloom which needs no optimization, no hands and no brain But with the new abyss banning elements, I guess it's time to get back into the thinly veiled spreadsheets

After starting using optimizer There's one spreadsheet that i comeback to every once in a while and that is energy calculator hope you kill the need for that one too in the optimizer

Great tool and I love the new substat solver! As a user my main pain point has been that I found the old priority list of characters super handy and the new "have to enable+disable characters on each other's profiles each time my priorities shift" super tedious :/ I wish the priority list was brought back as an optional "simple mode".

Just want to say I got burnt out twice in the entire time i played genshin, the first was because I started trying to be invested in artifacts and only found spreadsheet after spreadsheet of improving my damage, and got overwhelmed and the other was in sumeru and i got so many new characters i wanted to build. GO helped so much in making me love genshin again and I recommend it to my friends all the time

as newbie web developer this is a really good project, I also want to make something like this just for a self-project. but as a Genshin Player probable I will not use it. META and ENDGAME content makes me burn-out fast.

Hi!! Really thank you for creating GO! Actually, I have been trying to learn coding but it just didnt sitck. Probably because I am self learning and there is no place for me to really use the skill. I planned to focus on learning coding again after I finish with all my university stuffs (in literally 2 weeks), since there will be more time and energy to focus on learning. Stumbling across this video, I wonder if it is possible to join even though I am a super newbie. It would be an opportunity for me to try out on real projects and there will be much more fun to learn. I can also help with translation if it is still needed. I really appreciate you and your team's effort in building GO and contributing to the community.

I was a newbie when I started GO, I think its a wonderful feedback loop to contribute to a "live project", since changes you contribute gets seen by thousands of people(no pressure), which builds confidence and experience. Free feel to join our discord, and since the code is open source, you can build it yourself and play around with it.

seems like someone spent the last 3 years with no sleep. pd: about the artifact optimizer. i dont think its necessary to use brute-force to find the best artifact combination, in fact we already know whats the best build for almost every char. For example, i have arlecchino with homa. the best build (alfa) will be atk-atk-critdmg with 23.4critdm%, 11.7 crit rate%, 5.6atk% and 20 em in each artifact if possible and her new 4pc. this giving a total of x crit value, y total atk, z em and k total dmg%. with some heuristic (like cv of the artifact, 2pc/2pc or 4pc) you could pick the first "best" artifact combination (lets call this beta) and compare this with the true best perfect build mentioned before (if alfa is 100% beta is 87% ) and now the goal is to search a new combinations that gives more than 87%. Knowing the x,y,z and k of alfa and beta we could now if the actual build being created (we have the flower and feather picked, the rest is undetermined) could potentially reach the numbers on beta or alfa, then go to the next step and pick sands. if its impossible stop the computation and select other feather. if all feathers have been tried but we havent met the condition go back and select other flower. how we know if the actual build being created could potentially reach the x,y,z,k values of beta or alfa? thats a good question xd pd2: is it really that hard to create a dmg formula? in the end your dmg is determined by your total atk, crit value and dmg% bonuses that all applies together. for example, shenhe buff to cryo is just a flat atk bonus to your total atk.

honestly how do you handle your program being this popular and planning a team surrounding it and implementing stuff and managing all of these while still being able to code and play genshin and roll out new updates. are you just a productivity 10xer prodigy or was it not that tasking for something like this. cause all of that sounds so overwhelming but makes it sound easy

If the last 3-4 years of doing this has taught me anything, is that we have to be stragetic with the limited resource given to us. We have to unfortunately put a lot of restrictions on GO, so that we have a way to make it in a feasible time frame. Also, sleeping less and working more(I would not recommend).

It does sound easy when you put it that way, currently its more of a calculation engine limitation. Will get address eventually (TM) once we swap to the new engine.
