You made me visit Amazon because I did not know this blanket was an existing product. I thought you came up with this genius idea on your own. In any case, yours is superior. The 32.5 hours of dedication and effort can be seen. You inspire me so much. Thank you for sharing these projects with us!

I have been CRYING with laughter for the last twenty minutes. First of all, Steph is really hard on herself, and she didn’t like how difficult this was to sew or edit. It took a long time for this video, very easily her longest project just in sheer Chaos Sewist hours alone. But it’s SO GOOD AND SO FUNNY!!! Incredibly proud Chaos Partner over here!!! ❤😅❤

It is almost 2 years and a couple hundred bucks more than I anticipated when I started crocheting this blanket. I decided it should be California King sized bc I wanted it to go on a couch so that when the family watches a movie together, no one gets cold toes. So yeah, it has become and labor of love and has taught me huge amounts about loving imperfection and enjoying the process, as well as taking breaks and also not feeling badly about having other projects going at the same time. So yeah....I totally get this. 😂

Madame, you channel is amazing, you remind me of myself, and have encouraged me to begin sewing again. You procrastinate, flap and make mistakes, and finish with beautiful dresses. Some of the other dressmakers are a little intimidating, in my opinion, but you are so down to earth, with the correct amount of sarcasm, I love watching you, but you are a bad influence.

OK. First of all - yours beats Amazon any day of the week. If anything, you just proved how poopy the supply chain is to people who produce them on mass. Second of all - people take down Christmas trees. Fascinating. Hope you kids had The Best holiday. All the very best to you, your family and everyone you love and respect this coming year. May it be full of joy. - Cathy (&, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

Hi. I’m watching your fabric haul video. Your guessing on the yardage on the bolts. For a good guess count the folds on one side of the cardboard. Ever two folds on one side of the bolt equals one yard. It’s not perfect but it’s close.

I love that you’re working a project that you started last year because I feel better about all the projects that I’ve started and not gotten finished yet because I need to give myself compassionate deadlines and knowing I’m not alone makes it feel better.

You've done such an amazing job on that blanket and I think your work is totally worth it and you would not have the same satisfaction if you'd bought it off Amazon. Love your snark during this - the snark is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to your channel. I will have to see if I can make a blanket inspired by this for my adult offspring for the upcoming Christmas as I think they'd love it - they're all adults and I'm sure I can do something based on their favourite fandoms.

Happy New Year's! Wow, that blanket. Yeah, you could have purchased it off Amazon for $30, but I am certain yours will bring you much more satisfaction in the years to come and your kids will remember helping too in this family heirloom. Yep, you just made an heirloom. Now I want one, but after watching all your work, I might be feeling too overwhelmed and mostly lazy to do it myself. This would be the ultimate Christmas gift for the Home Alone fan. Lol, I understand how that bolt of Baby Yoda fabric had to come home with you. Look how adorable it is!

Did any of the holiday movies beginning have him driving home in a residential neighborhood with "Hark are the bells, sweet silver bells, all seem to say, throw cares away Christmas is here, bringing good cheer" getting sung in a round? I remember some 90s movie with that song in the first maybe10 minutes but can't recall which and its been driving me nuts trying to find it.

Totally love this blanket! I'm with you on the "long project" thing that ends up costing more (have a few too many of those!!) Just a quick question about washing this. Will it need dry cleaning? I once did something similar with felt stitched onto other fabric. It got wet, the felt shrank but the other fabric didn't! Pulled the whole thing way out of shape. Curious to know the best way to wash something like this...

The end result looks fantastic. But you could have saved many hours if you had done the embroidery on the sewing machine. Because sewing thread onto fabric with the sewing machine is very easy with a rolled hem foot. I used the smallest one to feed my thread and stitched on 3mm macrame thread with a 3mm zigzag stitch. So if you ever do a project like this again, that method works as long as the fabric you sew things onto is not elastic.

I love how your child is in the background of the car clips with the expression of "Mom, what the BEEP are you doing? This is totally embarrassing! I want to go home already (or for ice cream, I don't care which)! ARRRGGHHH!!! MOM!!!" lol And it is a week-long project. 32 1/2 hours is almost a full work-week, right? lol Besides, you're obviously possessed of the innate ability to squish a week-long project into oh, what, 8 months? That takes some serious talent to do that lol Impressive piece of work, nonetheless. Now what you need to do for NEXT Christmas is hang it up as a holiday display in the biggest window in the house that faces the neighbors as they drive by. I guarantee it'll be the talk of the neighborhood lol

I have a video like that. I recorded me making a utility pocket for a friend in Dec 2021, probably around the time you started the blanket. While I did manage to finish it in plenty of time for her birthday. But did she get it anywhere near her birthday (Dec 27th)?? Why no, no she didn't. It sat on my work table, all boxed up and ready to send, for another 8 months. She got it in August. And what happened to the video you ask?? It's still on my computer waiting for me to finish editing it because I have procrastination issues. Seriously, all I have to do is finish the closed caption subtitles, add some music, render it, upload it, and then make a thumbnail. What's so hard about that? Nothing. Boy, oh boy, my year end review is gonna be extremely short. Anyway, Happy New Year. Look forward to more shenanigans and sarcasm on your channel in the coming year.
