a game with uncontrollable character like this could be a metaphor for the type of adhd mentality where someone is obsessed with their goal so much they don't realise they need to take breaks and that overworking themselves can be harmful and even less effective (especially considering that the game would be literally easier if Faceplant stopped running for ONE Second x)

Aye man don't worry about it, you can't expect yourself to be perfect, we all go through a long period of time where our productivity plummets, ive been stuck in that hole for 5 months, but i know i will inevitably get out of it, life can be stressful and your mental well-being should always take priority. Even when you feel like there is no excuse for you struggling to make progress, there is, simply worrying about your own lack of progress can also be a detriment sometimes. As for my lack of progress, i think it's simply because I'm too scared to write, i decided to make a story game and it's extremely nerve racking, but i refuse to drop it, i need to make this game, i got into game development to help express myself so i wont so easily drop a project that is entirely designed to do that, it's theme is very personal to me and i want to share what's going on in my head with my friends but i cant do it with words so i need to make this game and despite my lack of progress over these past 5 months, im determined, it's inevitable that i will finish this game so long as i keep pushing forward. As for this video, I like what you've done with the art, it looks very nice and feels polished, can't wait to see what the rest of this game will look like :-)

Those brushes are really clever. I struggled making a 2d game so much I just opted for 3d instead. I'm not an artist so I have no idea how hard a brush is to make. But damn that might have changed things for me.

I think 2D can be easier if you do limited colour palettes and simple shapes. But for sure 3D looks awesome just out the box usually haha

As someone who's working on game dev project (in very early stages) with someone, solving the issues of HOW things look, how to apply the visuals, how to integrate 2d with 3d-- visions of where you wanna take things are met with revisions so often that it's hard to make progress until you sort out the mistakes/obstacles! IDEA: I haven’t watched all the devlogs so I’m not sure if this is already in the game. The plant guy could create grass and foliage wherever it runs. On top of just looking really cool and creating some visual interest, it would also indicate which areas you have reached so you can see when you reach a new high score. You could also incorporate it into the game’s story. Then check points could also be indicated by a pot that grows a big sunflower when you reach it. I’m sure there are tons of other stuff you could do with the idea.
