Don’t assume lower is better… you need enough suspension travel with total control (no bottoming of the shock and enough stroke to keep the tyres on the ground)… don’t ‘stance’ it…. Set it to work or you will ruin it for both road and track. Increased aero will make shorter/lower suspension even worse…. You will end up on the bump stops all the time and this can lead to a loose of control/grip, just the opposite of what you are trying to achieve
@notyourgrandmasgolf89502 ай бұрын
truth. hitting the bump stops effectively gives your car an infinite spring rate

Great video Luke! Interested to know the cost of the repairs if you would be happy to share? I have a stock manual Golf R myself and replaced the clutch at around 35k miles with normal driving (never tracked or modified). They do wear a fair amount so with the track days you are doing that looks to have pushed the gearbox beyond its limit. As soon as I noticed mine slipping I had it replaced to avoid any further damage. Tough one to take but great to see you back out on track enjoying what you do and sharing the video 👍👍

Nice. Enjoyed your video. I have a 2014 Golf 7R DSG. Go to track days with it. I had a Racingline oil catch can like yours, but replaced it with an APR, works better and easier, only miss the dippstick on the Racingline.

@@Maro2196 i agree but vs what he already has? I mean this is still a street driven car and the wing on it already is huge. How often is he doing 120+mph runs to extract this wings full potential anyway?

@@Maro2196 i say this not to be petty but simply stating a point. For example on my Mitsubishi Evo 9 MR the factory wing obtains it's full potential at 130mph +, so this monster wing on the Golf R that is lighter than my Evo shouldn't require a larger wing. He just isn't hitting the speeds to justify it. But what do I know right??🤣👍

as far as i cant tell, they are just shit to shift because of the dualmass fly wheel giving some rev hang and sluggish throttle blips. I assume audi/vw still using them. Mine still has dual mass but people say single mass is like a lightened flywheel just by halfing the mass without anything special.
