Hey Photosynthesis, try wood putty next time to fill in the cracks. You just take a wad, put in the crack, wait for it to dry, and then sand it off. Your kitty looks fabulous!

I feel like the easiest way to do this, since you counted all the blocks out already, is to also count the colors, get spray paint in primer and each of the colors you want, then to just put all the blocks out on newspaper outside, spray them all to get them the color you want, then all the work in front of the camera is just picking the right color blocks and gluing them together. Not such a big deal for an all-black one like this, but for other projects, I think this would be much easier.

I’d reccomend a courser sand paper to make it go faster, and a softer sandpaper for finishing touches. The lower the grit number, the courser it is. There’s also tiny sanding drills on Amazon used for acrylic nails, but I’ve seen people use them for wood projects ❤️ the cat looks amazing btw 💛💛💛💛

some tips from someone who had woodworking classes in middle school: use rougher sandpaper to get rid of edges/uneven parts you don't like faster, _then_ use finer sandpaper to make it look nice you figured this one out already but use the filler first and then sand after, filler is dummy thicc and can leave bumps paint as you go, paint the stomach and between the legs before you attach/make them so it's easier to get paint there small hand saws are useful for cutting out tiny chunks faster, otherwise you have to sand for like 10 mins the exact same spot (if you don't wanna risk cutting too much I wouldn't recommend it though) _use a mask and goggles when sanding!_ it's important as sawdust can get in your eyes, mouth, and nose as you experienced that's it I think? I'm no expert but from what I learned having to saw/sand/paint wood planks into shit and using a jigsaw cutter that terrified me I got some useful info on the basics, stay safe when doing anything with tools :3
