@@onkgethetsemompati4873 let's remember small things like aired parliamentary debates and televised presidential election debates which Khama did not allow but Masisi allowed them and every Motswana got to see what was going on in the country whichis a goodthing and that contributed to his removal which could had been the case if Khama allowed for it during his time, we were kept blind

@chesterphiri7523 in Mozambique there is a fight now since no one want to declare defeat. With democracy you accept defeat and hand over power and challenge next time . Atleast Botswana is teaching Africa how the transition of power has to be done in a fair election and without shedding blood. He was warm to see the ruling and the opposition shake hands and promised to work together for the benefit of the country.

An educated population + free and fair elections makes such an outcome possible. Despotic regimes fear one or both. “Unemployment and mismanagement topped concerns among the more than one million registered voters, out of a population of 2.6 million. A key concern for voters was unemployment which has risen to 27 percent this year and a slump in the economy due in part to weakened diamond sales, Botswana's single biggest revenue earner. Growth is projected to slow to one percent this year. There have also been allegations of corruption, nepotism and mismanagement by Masisi's government, while the gap between the rich and poor is one of the largest in the world, according to the World Bank.”

1. Trevor Ncube is based in Zimbabwe. 2. Ian Khama for a long time was the only President in SADC & AU who broke rank & spoke out against stolen elections and the tyrannical rule of Robert Mugabe & his Zanu PF party. The Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa was also another one who spoke out about repression of opposition voices in Zimbabwe. 3. Gone through the comments, there is no evidence of your assertion. 4.
