Masisi has been removed by Batswana not Khama, if Khama was as influential as he may think we were going to see his party take power or have the majority in the opposition.

By the people yes... but this guy destroyed the BDP... he chose a vice president which most had no belief in... I remember in 2014 when he was being elected as VP this guy forced BDP to vote Masisi... i cant blame Masisi but this guy😂😂😂 even Mogae for choosing Ian

@@onkgethetsemompati4873 let's remember small things like aired parliamentary debates and televised presidential election debates which Khama did not allow but Masisi allowed them and every Motswana got to see what was going on in the country whichis a goodthing and that contributed to his removal which could had been the case if Khama allowed for it during his time, we were kept blind

@mokwadintema6220 He had nothing to do with MEK's removal. Batswana were sick and tired of mainly Masisi and his shenanigans and that's why we removed the BDP. Khama had nothing to do with it. He might have been angry with him and wanted him gone but us as a nation are the ones who made sure it happened.

Eish, thank you for saying that. Some people have amnesia now. They forget the journalists that fled the country for their safety, they forget the alleged people that were gunned down at his command, the lack of substance in his presidency and prioritizing giving people who don’t have jobs blankets instead enacting policies to increase jobs. Like?????? How hard life started to become hard under his rule

@chesterphiri7523 in Mozambique there is a fight now since no one want to declare defeat. With democracy you accept defeat and hand over power and challenge next time . Atleast Botswana is teaching Africa how the transition of power has to be done in a fair election and without shedding blood. He was warm to see the ruling and the opposition shake hands and promised to work together for the benefit of the country.

An educated population + free and fair elections makes such an outcome possible. Despotic regimes fear one or both. “Unemployment and mismanagement topped concerns among the more than one million registered voters, out of a population of 2.6 million. A key concern for voters was unemployment which has risen to 27 percent this year and a slump in the economy due in part to weakened diamond sales, Botswana's single biggest revenue earner. Growth is projected to slow to one percent this year. There have also been allegations of corruption, nepotism and mismanagement by Masisi's government, while the gap between the rich and poor is one of the largest in the world, according to the World Bank.”

There is no difference between the two presidents. It is a health imperative to the country for them to desist from unduly grilling one another. Batswana own this funeral, so, what are they crying for. Thenation is not warring, so, why should they. Boko shares the same sentiments with all Batswana

Most of the comments supporting Ian Khama in this section are from Zimbabweans. Be careful, baTswanas are not into the politics of retribution. Even this interviewer Trevor is a Zimbabwean based in South Africa.

1. Trevor Ncube is based in Zimbabwe. 2. Ian Khama for a long time was the only President in SADC & AU who broke rank & spoke out against stolen elections and the tyrannical rule of Robert Mugabe & his Zanu PF party. The Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa was also another one who spoke out about repression of opposition voices in Zimbabwe. 3. Gone through the comments, there is no evidence of your assertion. 4. BaTswana are not a monolith. No country is.
