And on that note, I probably would have more easily let it go if comments weren't restricted, because turning them off made it clear that you knew people would be critical of Temu. Had you made the video but allowed your audience to response naturally, I think it might have been alright. Temu could see the reputation they have, and you could engage in an open way. It also worries me if Temu is sponsoring videos with censorship control over what you say. I would have been interested in your views on Temu products if you were free to speak your mind (more than just pointing out the iconic red design of the interface, to give an example).

I did not see your Tamu video and really don't know what it was all about. But I did watch this heartfelt apology and it seems that it was the right thing to do. Very well done! You mentioned the possibility of sponsoring a chair and that really hit home for me. I was getting headaches, a stiff neck and shoulders. I had to curtail my hours in my studio because of this. So I did a lot of research on every chair I could find, and after that I spent some serious money on a new chair. That was about a year ago and I now have zero pain. I ended up getting the X-Chair but there were many other good ones out there. I have a good Cubase friend that swears by the Aeron chairs. A good chair takes time to get used to if you were not sitting correctly before. But in the end they are well worth the money and it has really made a difference. Another thing I did was start using a trackball instead of a mouse. I think that also added to the relieving of my discomfort. So my point being, sponsoring something from a company that is essentially not in the music industry might be a good idea. And a product like a good ergonomic chair is VERY applicable to the work we do. If you like the chair, tell people about it. If the company pays you for it and you're still honest, who cares? In actuality, you're really doing us all a favor like you do with the rest of your videos.

Not everyone has money to buy all good brands products. Living in Eastern Europe and having 20$ as a monthly salary would make impossible having a studio. My first "studio" was a 30$ Shure C607 + a second hand M Audio soundcard, recording in a wardrobe, all cables being some hand soldered antenna cables from Turkish marketplace. At that time, having the Temu gear on that price would have been a miracle to me. At this time, any kid with a computer can have a studio fully equipped under 100$, which is an amazing thing. Anyone can hate Temu as much as they want, but I think the pop filter, the cables and the microphone stands were of very good quality.

To own your own lesson shows you have empathy for those of us who ride with you. Not only have you learned and shared means that we also learn. So we all benefit.

I am watching your videos, they are great. But It is so sad ,what i see here in this video. You are making a great content and at the same time you have to apologize just because of one review, that IMHO IS NOT a MISTAKE at all ! For the "sofa-experts" it is easy to watch the videos and reviews, that someone makes. There are a lot of sofa-experts, who has no glue at all: how much time, experience, money and other resources you are investing into it. And most expensive one is a TIME . But nobody cares.. To be sponsored by any company/platform/brand - why not? Money in music industry is especially sharp question . And i am sure: there are people, who would like to know - how sounds the affordable equipment from Temu, right? Not everyone can afford the expensive gear, right? So, the video about Temu products was personally for me just interesting. But the main truth about this "mistake" is this : now you know, who really supports you on your channel and will never blame you for your decisions. Every sound engineer/producer/youtuber has right to be sponsored. And your real friends and community members will always stay by your side. I wish you good luck, stay positive in what you are doing, be strong, and keep pushing! :)

I didn't see the video in question before you took it down, but the way you've handled this only makes me MORE happy that I'm subscribed to your channel. I have no idea the challenges involved in building and growing a successful KZbin channel, but I know that I enjoy your content. Keep pushing!!

Wow Wytse, your honesty is humbling. Admitting that you feel that you made a misstep takes a lot of courage, this really shows your integrity. Don't lose any sleep though, it's not worth that much drama. To offer a little support I just became an early access member of your channel. Alle kleine beetjes helpen ;)

Dude, we make mistakes, we all do. its mighty big of you to own up and forge on ahead. You'll be stronger for it. I also think that its at times like this that it would serve you well to remember how much value you have given to your community over the years, and keep your focus on continuing to build on that.

The reality is that monetizing KZbin videos always, always influences the content. Your audience understands this and take all content with a grain of salt. Thanks for all your content so far!

WOW...I admire your honesty! I just searched and found a dozen other music channels who took a similar route. You are not alone. But tho I missed your Temu channel, I must say, scanning thru these other sites leaves me not interested in clicking on them. THEY LOOK CHEAP. They seem to be a total sellout. I dig that it takes money to operate, but like you said...at what cost? You have given me solid info over several years and saved me from spending money on crap. That's why, due to your integrity alone, I am "Thanking" you a small amount. It won't pay your bills but it will show that at least one of your loyal viewers recognizes your worth. Peace.

Wasn't subscribed before ( not sure why as I watch most of your videos ), so I subscribed to show support in this situation which you handled appropriately IMO. Onward & upward.

This is truly a tough situation to be in! On one hand, we trust you and the quality of your content , and on the other hand, there’s the need for money because, like everyone else, you have bills to pay at the end of the month. Thanks for being honest and open about it! Keep pushing 🤜🤛

It's ok, Everybody makes mistakes, the difficult part is realizing something was not a good idea, and adjust/correct course as needed Keep up with your usual type of videos, and thanks for your honesty

You just made a new subscriber with your honesty. Everybody can make mistake. I was watching a video about cult the other day, from a girl who've been in a cult, she was telling her experience. The company sponsoring her video is managed by... a cult leader! You can imagine the comments! She was horrified of course, but the community understood that she wasn't aware of that fact and it's ok at the end. Ok, now I'm going to watch what you're doing with these machines!!!
