Here's a whacky idea for the small side room: how about the studio of a pirate radio ship? Back in the 1960s, Europe (and Britain in particular) had unauthorised radios stations based on ships out in the North Sea. They were known as Pirate Radio Stations. The room would have turntables for the records, a rack of records, a jingle machine (like 8-track machines) and a mixing desk.
@brikhouse222 жыл бұрын
Funny, I didn't even give thought about what that room could be when I made the comment, I just thought it would be such a waste of space/opportunity to only put support blocks there. Maybe it could be a spacey greenhouse/garden? A bunch of weird looking plants in little domes or weird growing aperatuses. Or a bathroom? Tool room? Maybe a closet like Monica had on friends, full of all that odd stuff you have nowhere else for lol. Old items from the captain's quarters, space vacuum, old lamps, extra space suits etc lol. If you built a box you could get a larger room out of it which could also act as support for the above hallway. Loving the infinity door, it looks great!

I instantly had the same N*SYNC song pop into my mind when you sang "here we go." Now it will be stuck in my head all day. The side room could a trophy case or a history of previous captains, like "employee of the month" lol. Have pictures of the captains with the years they served. Or maybe a combo of both, a wall of captains and various knick knacks from adventures, have a key to a city, weapons from slain villains, special space rocks, things like that.

Love your videos, frank explanations and pointing out your mistakes. All endeavours like this is a learning experience and the more you do the better you get. Just a note on securing the paper mirror film, just for fun, try using a re-positional spray adhesive. You can spray the back of the paper and then the substrate, wait till the surface is not wet before mating. You could use a piece of wax paper between the two to help line up and position, then gently pull away and use the brayer roller to further flatten. I’m sure you will very pleased with the results and will start using this method for other applications. The spray I use is 3M Super 77 but you can get lighter duty sprays at Home Depot or most Office Supply stores. Thank you so much for making these videos as I find them educational and inspiring!

You know what would be interesting in that little room you're gonna add? Something like hydroponics or whatever futuristic spaceshippy idea you can come up with. Some greenery would be very unexpected and even a spaceship captain needs to make sure she gets some veggies on those long flights after all! I really love this project and how it's all coming together, it looks incredibly cool already.

Love this project!! Just a little FYI, when the window tint goes on top of the mist layer, it takes a few days for the bubbles to cure on their own. If you try smooshing the bubbles, it moves the adhesive on the tint, which will cause the adhesive to fail, and causes bigger bubbles in the future due to adhesion failure. It takes 3-4 days for the moisture to cure on its own, don't touch it at all, and it should be perfect.

But I'd likely want to eventually replace it with mirror too if I was working on it. That's what we do. Try and try again and get better and better. Yeah, Rock and Rolls truss. Lightweight and as sturdy as it gets. Even futuristic spaceships would use them. Thanks physics! Oooh! I didn't realize you wouldn't see the door details multiplied in the mirror because it's outside the mirror. That really sells it. A stowaway. In the side. Nestled in a bunch of wires. Maybe an alien chewing the wires to eat power.

I was so happy to see that the doorway wasn't reflected in the mirror either! It makes sense because the film is in full reflecting mode on the inside but since our brains know that we are looking through something clear its still hard to fathom what's going on. An alien chewing through wires would be hilarious!

That hallway is so awesome!! You are so clever to figure these things out! Love the straw idea and the wires! It's just a fascinating project to watch.
