I have played games with movement like Assassin's creed. Dying light. Prince of Persia etc but when I started learning movement tech in apex I was just blown away. Just imagine that dying light has movement like apex it would be 100x more addictive than any other game and recentally I played treeree map and I was blown away again by the application of climb tech.. you can do double wallbounce without revenent. I was thinking of developing a small game with apex movement and it's hard. Good to see someone working on it ☺️☺️

I'm currently on my Master's Degree in Interactive Technologies and if there is anything that I have learned throughout my entire Bachelor degree in Game Design is that that when it comes to programming, game development is like building a castle of cards, or a jenga set.. The more you add to it, the massive it is, but just know that one mistake can easily cost you even in some cases an entire month of work, or multiple. But if you pull off what you want with the blocks or cards you have placed, you get a tremendous feeling of accomplishment.

Hmm maybe it hard, better you use Source 1 and 2 Engine is already have code. Have gmod workshop parkour is have code. You need copy this gmod addons. Valve hidden codes Source Engine. Apex Legends is Source Engine technically. Can learn use old engine better.

I am a programmer (not game dev though), and I would not have expected what you did to be that "easy" (in terms of time spent). So either it's easier than I thought (which I doubt), or either you're smarter than you think ;)

i myself tried to do the same thing and for the same exact rason and acomplished something that sort of worked, but it ended up feeling completely different from apex, tho it did feel satisfying, i managed to implement wallrun, double jumping, sliding and tap strafe, tho some things are still bugged and the code is basically a bunch of noodles. anyway i still have the goal to someday make a full game based around this kind of satisfying and skilled movement. in the mean time it will be interesting to see how far you can get this!

Between this and apex mobile solidifies the fact that apex can indeed be done/recreated in unreal engine, which unfortunately might never happen but would make wonders for the game to be on a more functional and "easier" to manage tech.
