I bet this would be even more powerful with a counter-weight that moved opposite the main fist; the acceleration of a counter weight would help the user deal with the recoil of the fist and direct even more force and energy into the target. Still, this is super cool!
@pappabrocc2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, most of the force from the punch is lost in recoil and the actual power of the fist has just been coming from momentum
@AmazingQuill2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Or some sort of exoskeleton that would keep the fist in place and prevent the force from going into the user's arm.
@pvshka2 жыл бұрын
@@pappabrocc also needs more extension length to utilize the motion, with length this short, the fist comes to a stop before hitting with full power.
@brandondavis12632 жыл бұрын
That and a trigger that would be used to just extend without oscillating back and forth. Half the time the fist is punching things it's retracting. I think it's because it oscillates too fast.
@Zerohhhhh2 жыл бұрын
A counter-weight with the same weight and acceleration as the fist would only serve to eliminate the recoil in air. Besides, with better timing the recoil would actually be useful as it would allow the user to transfer more energy into the fist.

This is really neat. What if you added a sensor to it that detects when an object is in the range of the arms extention punch and then activates it? That way it'll hit the object with the extending force instead of potentially reaching the object when already maximally extended

@@Mr.Cheeesse It would take a lot more engineering. To make it out of metal, like titanium or something light weight, and to make it hit as hard as possible.. remember that every force has an equal and opposite reaction so that would mean the user would be absorbing all that energy without some type of shock absorber.. then it would still weigh a lot, probably more than you could hold unassisted.. so you would need the rest of the iron man suit/power suit to help lift the arm. After watching this, its made me realize how impractical Tony Stark's Hulk Buster hammering fist was. It didn't matter how much force was exerted forward, your shoulder would need to be able to withstand that amount of force (Newton's third law). And if you were actually able to withstand it, you could only use it in a scenario where you have Hulk pinned down. On top of that you'd have to gauge a specific shoulder height to operate it because if it's going further, you're going to go through the skull. Of course, lore-wise that's next to impossible to happen to Hulk but Tony would be arrogant enough to think his tech would out beat Hulk. So he would have gotten comfortable holding a punch half-cocked to operate that piece of tech. That all said, still one of my favorite scenes.

Its more then just the fist. It is a entire MASSIVE suit that is bigger then the Hulk at 11 ft. The rest of the Hulkbuster is able to withstand the force it puts out, and a bit more to try and stay up as long as possible against the Hulk, plus while I do agree with Tony having a massive ego, it did held up pretty decently against him AND its more of a protocol, someone has to try and keep him in check when he goes on a rampage when Thor is not around
@godskittles20642 жыл бұрын

I think with something like this, you’d almost need an exoskeleton with hydraulics that is very heavy so if you want to move joints around, you’ll have a neurotransmitter to detect the waves that are sent to your muscles, and then the hydraulics can move the suit to match your desired movements. I’m not sure if that’s possible to have such a low input delay that it would feel instantaneous, but it would work because, without that, you would need to hav such a storm arm that the mechanism wouldn’t move your arm back, effectively lowering the punching power of the hulk buster fist.

I think that you could do it with sensors inside the armor, and by precise callibration of a heck ton of pressure sensors, you could calculate the position the arm is moving towards and follow movement.

Slight recommendation here: If you can attach some kind of sensor to detect when something is in the proximity of the punch/drill/whatever attachment, and then push out only when it knows it'll hit, you'll get a lot more efficiency on the force exerted and you won't get as bad of recoil, you could probably even bump up the PSI, material durability willing. Arduino has proximity sensors, and you can measure the distance that the fist extends, detect if it's within that sweet spot range (or a few inches off, depending on the person moving the device towards the target). Hope this helps, happy crafting.

VIDEO: Punch Activated Arm Flamethrowers (Real Life Firebending) | Sufficiently Advanced Strongly recommend making a video involving the duel between Ironman with Power Puncher and Kungfu Master with Punch Flame Thrower. My bet is on Punch Flame Thrower.

Awesome design! If it was hooked up further up on the arm passed the elbow it could of been better balanced, and or connected into some sort of support system to help compensate for the forward weight but overall awesome machine!!! You guys are amazing at what you do!

Would be cool if you could built an armour or west out of metal that you could attach this arm to, so you don’t absorb a lot of force coming from the fist through your elbow.

You should make a similar hulk buster fist but with a drill that can dig under ground

You should make a powerloader sized version of this and try it on the powderloader. I think the larger frame and exoskeleton will allow you to handle it with more precision and it'll also be less physically draining for the user as well.

I just wanted to thank you James I’ve been learning how to use CAD 3D design on a software called NX and I feel you and your channel is a huge part of me Perusing this sort of talent and how to make my own things for myself like you do and I just wanted to thank you guys for that
