Congratulations! So proud of you, you finished the project I never could, you made it real! 🙌 Edit: since everyone's gonna ask -- we stopped working on flying like iron man when Richard Browning came out with Gravity Industries in 2019 -- and probably a good thing too, cause based on what Jake spent on this... we woulda gone bankrupt back then! Seeing Jake do it brings a tear to my eye, I am seriously happy for him. It does make me kinda wish we kept going back then -- but then again Hacksmith Industries might never have became the company it is today if we had! All for the best, besides, Jake makes a much better Tony than I ever did 😄

The crazy thing is Tony in the movie also almost died when testing it. If it wasn't done for comedic effect, he would have been seriously injured when he was testing the thrust at 10% power and slammed into the wall at 100 mph. So I appreciate seeing you take the safety precautions in this video.

A long, long time ago (33 years...) a I was a young man. I had this dream. I sat in libraries trying to make it work. I quickly realised it was impossible. Well, not impossible, but too many technologies weren't there, or in their infancy. A dozen things to get working first. More than a lifetimes work. Heartbroken, I moved on to other things I could do. Not enough giants backs to stand on. I'm 50 this year and I see this. Another smart young boy with my dream but this time, the tech is within reach. Possible. I was crying half way through and sobbing by the end. YES!!! You did it! You made our dream come true. I had put it so far back I had forgotten that boy a bit. I can't tell you how this feels. Thank you so much. "Why do I keep doing this?" 'Cause that's what heroes do.

I had the same dream. The first EDFs I bought tested at less than half their advertised thrust. I knew what I wanted to make would become too big and too expensive based on the new revised specs and bailed. I bet a lot of people have tried this. I'm 67 and just had a broken femur fixed, so no flying or even ladders for me now. Its great this worked out for someone who persisted through all the insanely expensive failures needed to learn how to succeed.

One thing that's worth mentioning is the suit in the comics, the main thrust is from the feet and the arms are just for stabilization. This later was replaced with auto-stabilization coming from vents around the waist so that the user can fire repulser blasts from their hands without the worry of destabilization. The user could not reasonably control the kick-back from the foot-faced propulsion, so to compensate for this, the exoskeleton make the user have stronger joints that used servos to only move when the user moved their biological muscles. Obviously, if we overlook the logistics of the energy and scale needed to achieve this, such complex mechanisms would be WICKED expensive, so it's really impressive how well you compensated for such a lower budget (comparatively).

This video teach me not to over complicated the design. You want a flight, so you didn't bother to design a suit to help you maintain the pose on flight. That's amazing mindset that gets things done. Thank you for your dedication on the project and the urge to tell it's story to the world.

I think I have a better plan😅 If you could focus at a singular point with a spiral kind of mechanism with one big fan instead of many small fans . it would have been better . But still good job man . I'm a big fan of you❤

I love how they showed the sadder side of engineering. When the project you're working on doesn't seem to show any fruition, plus the things that happen in your personal life, it really takes a toll on you.

Been watching you for a few years and it never ceases to amaze me how every video is a step-up from the previous one. I hope that, with how much your channel keeps growing, you can continue to invest more and more resources into making awesome fantastical inventions become reality, because at this point, your only limit is your budget, you've got the brains and the patience to handle everything else

It’s crazy to see how far you and your channel has come, since 5 years ago when you kept posting at least 15 videos on web shooters. Your content has changed for the better, from little gadgets to big projects such as this iron man project. Love each and every video you post. Can’t wait for the next one.❤

It’s because of people like you, that one day we’ll probably actually have an Iron Man suit. I’m texting this to you to because someone saw a Star Trek episode where Kirk used his commutator, and said, I want that. And here we are. Just takes time and people like you, congratulations dude😊

It looks like the problem with the batteries bursting into flames is the fact that the batteries aren't all evenly charged so one of them discharges lower than the rest while still pulling full power and that cell will heat up rappidly and burst into flames. I think you would need a BMS system to manage them to make sure all cells in the pack are charged evenly and discharging evenly.
