For anyone who wants to land the plane, ignore the flashing prompts a lot. Just match the proper alt and speed in the middle, but keep from stalling Not sure if the misleading prompts are a bug or just poor design. From a design perspective I would have made the numbers turn red yellow or green instead, letting the player adjust as needed

Man the lion king WAS my childhood. I had it on our family pc and I remember being stuck on different parts of it for months, but I also remember a point where I finished the game on a daily basis. There were so many good level though, and adult simba was badass. Oh the memories

Landing the plane was a boss moment from Shelby's part I remember that I got through the "I just want to be king" part once, to be killed by the stampede and never getting that far ever again. Another Disney game that is hard as hell, but is a little fairer at the start, is Aladdin (the Genesis/MegaDrive/MS-DOS version, not the SNES one). There things go uphill pretty fast in the dungeons and the Cave of Wonders.

@@laurens4951 I have played the PC version of that collection and they play basically the same. They're still hard as hell and borderline impossible, but now you can rewind a few seconds and use save states (if I remember correctly). Aladdin even comes with a "final cut" where they add back some planned stuff to the levels that were cut because of time limitations back in the '90s. People have even extracted the Final Cut ROM to play in their preferred emulators

In my very humble opinion The Lion King is NOT a bad game, but I can agree that it has some poor design choices here and there. As soon as I saw they released it on switch. I bought it very quickly. I did it. Wasn't even that hard. Though I was obsessed with games back in the days, had a lot of time, and also I was obsessed specifically with flight sims, and in flight sims landing was my favorite part, so... I usually wanted just to play fights in flight sims, but when another game found its way to my hands, it turned out that either I sucked at fights, or game sucked at making fights entertaining, but landings never disappointed me.

I still refer to games as "8-bit" and "16-bit" difficulty when they are really tough. There was a SEGA Megadrive side scrolling spaceship game called 'Hellfire' that I loved...I made it to the final boss twice. Never beat it. It was basically like Dark Souls, but with no save games, and if you wanted a chance to beat that last boss, you couldn't afford to die once or you wouldn't be powered up enough by the end.

I always struggled with one of the later monkey throw sections as a little kid (which is still very early into the game), just couldn't progress past that point. Fast forward another year or two, having become 5% more sentient, I beat the whole thing. It's been a little more than 20 years now geez.

Well of course it was gonna hit 1 million subs at the very least - I mean it's literally a good looking woman with dark humour and sarcasm narrating entertaining reviews about games - with a unique perspective. And who plays games the most? Guys. First there's the channel's name itself, then there's Matt who gave the direction and editing, and Shelby pulled it off with her singing and acting skills (now they each do a bit of both). The two make a great team. It also filled a gap in the market; i.e. no other channel was doing this sort of thing at the time. This channel was always gonna be a success because of these things. Depending on what choices they make from here, they'll easily end up with 2 million subs before the year is over... or it could go a different way entirely if they try appeasement to tyranny.
