I made my Katsucon cosplay in a week

I still can't believe I did this to myself, or that I actually pulled it off. A feat not regretted but hopefully never repeated! But eyyy I was so happy my hard work paid off and I got to wear "Daughter of Evil" Kagmine Rin at Katsucon 2019!

I got some horrific flashbacks to when I did this cosplay with an ex-friend of mine when we were 14. It was my third cosplay, but the first I was actually making so I had no prior experience and my friend was kind of a huge stinker throughout the whole process so I gave up on relying on her and pretty much made her entire ball gown by myself when we had a week before the convention. I would get home from school just after three and work on it until 9-11 and *then* homework. Probably one of the most haunting weeks of my life and I'm still salty that she let that happen to me and never really helped once, but I was super proud of the end result and happy to take credit so it wasn't all bad in the end. Edit: in her defence, she would come over sometimes in earlier months and help me a bit with my suit, but it was stuff like helping me pin fabric together, or cutting out pattern pieces.

Aw I bet it was great!! the most important thing is you wore it and enjoyed yourself! My best advice is actually to NOT do what I did here - when you're a beginner, the best thing to do is take your time and not rush. Google/KZbin tutorials for everything you don't know how to do. Practice on scrap fabric (aka your "mockup") first before sewing anything out of your nice fabric! And don't be afraid to take things apart and re-sew them if they aren't perfect the first time! Good luck!
