I built one similar to this at the beginning of the pandemic. I also used old flat resistance bands for glutes, hip flexors, hip adductors, pecs and lats, it has great resistance in almost every direction. I used pvc pipe covered by pool noodle for the limbs and half a foam roller for the body. Stuffed it all in an old wet suit. I now do drills almost every day.

I made a grappling dummy a few weeks ago but this is at a whole new level. Looks like Davy Throwit (that's what I named it) is going to get a serious upgrade. Wish I could post a picture of it. I made it with all household stuff. Blankets, towels, pillow, things like that.

Sounds like that would get the job done!

An utterly sincere mahalo, bro! You are pretty much the one KZbin Jiu Jitsu channel that I watch. I don’t message very often, so if I do it’s because I have been affected deeply. I watch the majority of your videos and I have been viewing unceasingly your “training solo” up loads for the past two months with this Coronavirus lockdown. Training solo in my garage is all I have right now and your videos are informative, challenging, fun and uplifting. I wanna thank you so much for this video on how to make my own dummy. It only reinvigorates my motivation for Jiu Jitsu while I cannot train with my brothers at our academy. There are days where I just feel spent and uninspired to train, but then I’ll see a video from you (whether recent or older) and it pushes me to remember how deep my love for Jiu Jitsu is and how it’s changed my life and confidence. I am still a white belt, but I know I’ll get to a black belt years from now. Just keep pushing ahead is all I think. Your tutorials and guidance are imperative now more than ever since not being able to truly train Jiu Jitsu with my brothers and sisters is the current environment. Mahalo again and for messaging me back all of those months ago when I was injured and couldn’t train for a little while. Keep up the great work🤙🏽❤️🥋

Wow. This message made my day. Sincerely. Knowing I can help anyone or help motivate someone, especially now when we are all a little short on the motivation front, makes me happy. Thank you so much for this message and I wish you all the best in training, solo or partnered.

Really nice, of course you are a handy man, also by the way that is not aesthetically well done, or with real articulation, but its efficient, you can work all the posture you want, all the transition, event that can boring your partner. Also you can work all the day on it And you dont lose your time and its easy to make it Im gonna make it ,thank you great warrior, and handy guy, its awesome !✨

Awesome!!! I paid $400 for mine over 25 yrs ago (original Gracie 7th one made). It's still awesome and has always taken all I got and keeps giving, but if I needed one this is perfect alternative. I might make one of your model just to have another only lighter & just to be crafty and feel a sense of artistic accomplishment. :-) Great share brother!!!!

@@KnightJiuJitsu :-) Most definitely my man! Almost everything can be worked but turtle and turtle breakdowns and some 1/2 Guard bottom dogfight type material in turtle as with your awesome version. That said Soooooo much can be worked though. They (bubba/yours :-) are awesome regardless!! I seriously love your version. Yours is a great contribution to anyone that has that fire & really wants to put in work, and have some fun. No doubt about it!

What are the pros and cons vs building a dummy like this? - kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6eadqF6h8x3Z5Y
@KnightJiuJitsu4 жыл бұрын
The absence of legs and a neck are the biggest drawbacks to that one. Also, no real joint articulation.
