yeah the nice thing is that people could already make nicely decorated designs, but it was often such a chore and you never felt like putting so much time into that now with the blueprints you can really let your creativity shine without worrying about having to manually repeat your designs everywhere

I spent a good hour designing a support for a bridge. I wanted to set up my train network on bridges that had these supports. If I did the set up perfectly first time, a support took around 10 mins to build. I would need over 1000 of them. Blueprints have saved my sanity

Alternatively, to improve the snapping of the skylight blueprint, you could build it centered in the blueprint constructor. By the way, I love your Satisfactory videos! Keep up the excellent work!

You can increase the object limit your self. So if you run into a problem involving object limit you can stop the crashing just by raising it. The satisfactory wiki has instructions on how to raise it.

I think the blueprints will primarily be used for making decorations that would be extremely difficult or flat out impossible on the normal grid as you briefly showed off.

Just started messing around with blueprints and my first practical creation was a super simple repeatable unit of two foundries, some splitters and conveyor belts. Looks like you're a hundred steps ahead of me already, but it's really interesting to see where this might lead.

The thick foundation (at 13:03)...I'd implement the side walls as two half foundations stacked side by side instead of the full foundation? This way if you place two of those side by side, you can remove a full foundation's worth of wall, and it still remains centered between the windows?

Also about the light, I think the light calculations are based off of the center point of the lamp. And the distance it shines varies depending on how how close something is below the center point. In your storage room I think you have those frame foundations or frame floors directly below the lights, with the center of their crossbeams below the center of the light, so it only shines as far as to reach them, but not "through" them. If you remove the frames, it should adjust and shine all the way to the floor. Maybe it's possible to offset their position by 4m in both directions so the light shines through the holes, but I'm not 100% sure if it'll work

I know I'm really late, but with the storage room blueprint, if you flip it every time, you'll have a full foundation blank. That is much easier to deal with than deleting everything and rebuilding it. Also, if you make sure that all your blueprints are centered on the blueprint maker, you'll have an easier time placing them. If they are offset on the blueprint maker, you'll have to try to place them at that same offset.

hey Kibitz, for the first skylight that was giving you trouble, why not make it a puzzle piece? one end has a single glass in the center, the other has the side pieces, it would make it significantly less work to put together and it should solve the issue of centering and what not.

Hey Kibz, shouldnt you make your roof / wall blueprints open on the side? Example: Skylight Detail VARIANT should have another side of glass, so the blueprint looks uneven, but you can keep spamming them left-to-right. It won't have a double concrete layer that way.

blueprints are gonna be the death of Satisfactory, mark my words! everyone who ever played Factorio is expecting the kind of gameplay that snowballs in what the player can do (eg: hand crafting noob > automating chad > bots wielding god), but for Satisfactory this is a total mistake. firstly, the game engine can't handle huge mega-factories, and secondly (and more importantly) the hidden joy of this game is the slow, one machine-at-a-time relaxation. it's the zen, the vibe, the chill!

I will use this system mostly to rob beautiful belt ballancers from other people XD The rest I think I'll make myself. Part of the fun is creating the compact designs yourself. I do wish they add some sort of way to delete an entire section of blueprint, because it's a mess to mass delete stuff.

I think some more basic "Clear" buttons would work. Clear Belts, Clear Walls, Clear Foundations, Clear Machines....Actually, screw that, gimme a little section of the menu that has a Clear ______ dropdown menu, where you can choose the ones I mentioned plus power, signs, lights, pillars, beams. I'm sure there are some others that would be useful
