Holy shit when you took the grinder to the board i nearly spat out my beer 😂 This man is not afraid of commitment

grinder to the board is commitment, what about cutting the hood of the car. Now thats commitment. ... or insanity... not 100% sure which, sometimes the lines are blury.

THE WIRE WHEEL ON THE PCB. just genius
@diggleboy2 жыл бұрын
I never laughed so hard at a project as I did watching this master craftsman take a grinder to a PCB to remove SMD components. The trace cuts were made with absolute precision and detail. I will never look at an Arduino Uno the same way ever again. Your level of project detail with algebraic equations, circuit diagrams, and sheer commitment by cutting out a notch in the hood of your car and 3D printing an enclosure was what won me over to subscribe and like this video. Dude! Keep up the good work! Comedic gold combined with engineering skill and video editing genius. Made my day. 😁

This must be the best most useless thing I've ever seen, and it's brilliant! I laughed so hard at the PCB depopulation, then the modded scuttle panel, and then the bonnet (hood) cut-out. The piece de resistance is that the whole thing actually did exactly what was set out. Thanks for the laugh, and keep doing you.

I respectfully disagree. This is probably the cheapest servo ever made at this power level. Even new wiper motors are relatively cheap and junkyard motors are almost free
@squelchstuff2 жыл бұрын
@@G5Ckxew Respectfully, I think you may have misinterpreted my comment. Would you care to clarify what it is you disagree with? If it's the first statement, allow me to explain the joke that was intended - "The best most useless" is an oxymoron meaning that it is of the highest class of uselessness ie. The windscreen wipers will probably no longer perform their original purpose of clearing rain while moving to the beat, albeit the original modes have been reproduced in software. I doubt our friend rarely uses them for clearing rain in Arizona which is generally pretty arid. As for windscreen motors being very cheap, useful and powerful sources of motive power, especially for servos, there's no argument there, and I'm not sure how my comment leads you to this conclusion. All in all, the manner in which things are made on this channel are incredibly funny in their slap-dash construction (hot glue, clearance cut outs as an afterthought etc), but always with fundamental processes employed that achieve great results (a parody of those other "life tip" channels who's results tend to be genuinely useless click bait). Finally, the need to explain a joke often leads to the humour being lost.

This was EPIC!! Single-handedly the most educational, entertaining, insightful, nerdy video that I’ve seen this whole year! Thank you for sharing your talent. I think a funny modification of your dancing wiper motor project would be to make an “Adele Mode”, Where any time the vocal channel hits a high note above a certain octave the washer fluid motor will turn on and spray Adele’s tears onto your windshield. Thanks again!

BEST EVER HACK! The desired position oscillation might be caused by lash error, to fix the holding sound issue, you can create a deadband area around the desired position in the PID software. Probably better to tune the PID better too but.... Too fun!

This is why I subbed to your channel. this is awesome. I once made a speaker box in the back of a Suburban, open the drawer showing 1000 watt amps, and at the same time, it would lift the Box up, and the speakers were face down, it would turn them 90° towards the the back, and then set the box back down on the drawer, the speaker was protected when not in use. I used the basic stamp 2, and, a wireless remote key fob. It was some trick shit. It had a little functionality, too. When the system was off it just look like you had two big, carpeted boxes in the back. But when you press the remote or turn the radio on, that's when all the fun happened. Timing all that stuff to happen, and keeping everything from crashing into each other, oh, that was a lot of fun.

If that is a normal encoder, A channel, B channel, there should be a Z channel that is a marker pulse. You can rotate the shaft to align it with something. Goo d to use as a reset or check for the other pulses.

With the PID loop, add a little bit of KI which will make the motor slowest speed up to get to the set point. Also if you add a simple if statement which checks if the motor is +- a value from the set point have it turn off. Something like this: if (abs(set point - motorPosition)
