Personally I would have used hydraulic cylinders instead of springs and make the mechanism work without external power... just cylinders full of oil and the button would be valve that lets the oil pass (circulate) through the cylinders... Sorry for my English :D

very well engineered. It would be easier to build the bot 100% remote controllable. Good luck.

how delicate are rotary lasers? can a typical one bounce around in that roomy cabinet during daily driving and still work accurately? seems like alot of bouncing around it has to content with a whole years worth of potholes even if it only comes out to play a few times a year.. and it has alot of room to slam around vs in its case its pretty locked in and the case doesnt really bounce around as much

So like, just a thought - Perhaps a secondary wireless shutdown wouldn't be a bad idea? Maybe even something that fires automatically if signal is lost? I've had those controllers glitch out and send my plane flying into the parking lot lol. This thing would be way more exciting than my crappy foam plane was for sure.

You could also add limit switches to the turning mechanism if you wanted an additional thing to shut off steering inputs.

Do you have videos on your plasma cutting setup? I would love to see a workflow of how you design parts on the computer then turn them into reality. Also, this is really inspiring stuff! Well done.

Just be careful it doesn't become sentient and turn on you. Especially if you weaponize it into a battle bot.

I find that people seem way to confused avbout pound to kilo conversions. Its about 2 pound per kilo. 1kg~=2lbs 1lbs~=0.5kg So your 60kg servos is abt 120lbs
