I can't believe I finally made this dress! This is something that I've been wanting to do for a long time, but I've been waiting on it because of the knowledge needed in sewing, and the vast amount of money it costs to make.

As someone who’s done costume reproduction and sewing commissions, I wouldn’t charge any less than $20 an hour (I personally would charge $30 at least). You are using skills that have taken you years to acquire, and not just anyone could take a pile of fabric and make this dress! I hope this doesn’t come across as harsh in any way! I’ve had to learn the hard way doing commissions and you should 100% charge your worth. The dress is STUNNING. Cinderella’s gown is one of my bucket list projects and I am really picky when I see reproductions - you did an amazing job!

i earn $18AU an hour which is about $13US for working retail... which in comparison to this is incredibly easy. i think people making stuff of this calibre should be charging at least $30 an hour! i could never in a million years do something like this, it is definitely worth the money.

Never feel uncomfortable to charge what you deserve. 1st- you worked so many hours on this. 2nd- it took you years to learn to get to the level you are sewing now. 3rd- sewing like this is not a common talent, you should charge extra for your unique talents too.

So stunning. I think it would actually be pretty reasonable to charge the 4000 dollars. The amount of work and the high quality of your work (a lot of handsewing etc) plus the materials is bound to wind up at such a high price. And it's so impressive that it only took you about one and a half a months!! So cool

This looks so beautiful! And you're right about the color - they darkened the dress in post production. If you look at any footage from deleted scenes or bloopers, you'll see that the unedited footage shows the light blue dress. I do love the dark blue, but I think this is much closer to the original dress! P.S.: as a fellow creative who makes things for a living, don't be afraid to value your time and skill! I know said you wouldn't commission this dress, but with the amount of knowledge and work that this must've taken, a person should be paid well, and if it's expensive, it's because there's a lot of work involved. Don't undersell yourself!

First off - if you are charging ANYONE less than $30 an hour for your work, you are seriously undervaluing your talent. This is a PHENOMENAL project, the dress is gorgeous! Second, I'm just curious - how much does the dress weigh? I know it's lighter fabrics but gosh there a lot to that skirt! Beautiful work!

You did yourself proud. Understand that almost nobody can do what you did in creating that ball gown. There are people who would pay $10,000 for it just for a prom dress. Your labor is valuable, especially because you are making an hierloom.

It's super cute and beautiful And I love the colour, it reminds me more of the original cartoon Cinderella's dress and honestly I think the colour of this is a thousand times nicer than the colour of the live action verson. Personally I feel It makes it feel more reminiscent of Cinderella in my opinion That being said I'm not saying that that the colour of the live action version isn't beautiful I just prefer the softer blue Well done you've done an excellent job the dress is fantastic

When my school did the Cinderella dress scene we had a "stunt double" in the maid costume spin off stage and the real Cinderella spun back on stage, this dress would have been So perfect for that! You should definitely have your own costume shop 🤗

I am here just to say, that the actual dress is something between a grayish blue or a pale purple almost look silver like the original dress. But in the movie the thought it would get more attention if the color was stronger so they put an effect to make it look darker or vibrant.

Nice! I followed Bella Mae's as well! There are things about this one that I like better, such as your bodice construction and your stitching is a bit cleaner than hers. For bodices like this, I would always hard line it with cotton drill, or something heavy duty like that... I have even seen some stitchers Quilt the drill with lines of stitching to give it extra support so it never puckers at all..The length looks good and it looks very balanced. Bella Mae's version is amazing because of the quality of material and her really wanting to recreate the actual construction of it. Also she's just in general very charming. I loved it though. Your clean sewing is very impressive!

I don't think you need to worry about the criticism on the right "blue" color... It is your interpretation, your own version, your own creation as the artist that you are. You could have made it yellow, or green for that matter, and still be based on the Cinderella dress, it just simply would have your own unique spin on it, a vision that wholly belongs to you in body and soul.

The original in the movie was in many different lighting situs with the different areas it is worn. And lighting on all those many layers of color and opal type coloring is going to change as well. I would not worry about others opinions on the color, anybody who has ever worked on stage or screen knows how lighting changes and affects clothing. And your outer skirt actually acts just like Cinderella's skirt while she is dancing, it moves up and around. :-) You have done a great job with your materials and elevated them quite nicely. You should feel proud. I just had a thought, Lily James should be aware of how many people are making such spectacular versions of this gown. Really.

I’ve been following ur videos on TikTok for this series and I really love the dress. I think the fact you chose the lighter version of it really complements ur hair and skin tones because unlike Cinderella’s hair is brown so if it was dark on dark I think the colours would’ve really clashed together.
