Kyle is making three stunning handles for the integral knives that he is making! He needs to fit the handle to the tang of the knife, then he needs to embed the handles in epoxy so he can get a glove tight fit. Once he is done with the epoxy fitting, he will shape the handles to make them get that stunning shape that makes Kyle's handles stand out!

Kyle, you really showed your Master Smith chops on these little knives. The way each knife and handle layout is measured and ground precisely and uniformly is astounding. Each knife is perfect in it's own right, but making 5 knives exactly the same by hand is mind blowing. Go Team Royer.

When you are sanding carbon fiber or fiberglass you really should have a mask on. Those microfibers float in the air and if you breathe them they can stay lodged in your lungs forever. Even though they are inert they cause constant physical damage, just like asbestos fibers, and can really wreak havoc with your health, long term. Many of these type warnings are silly, this one is not. There are also common allergies that arise in many people with exposure to the epoxy dust, and like any allergen, adverse effects until a sufferer can no longer enter that environment. Just a tip from a Long EZ builder. What the heck was that mess you showed on that tang layout marking? It looked like one you had marked wrong and then scribbled over to make sure it wasn't used. :-) I was about to comment on your epoxy 'drying' and then you flat out got it right. Drives me nuts every time I hear that, for some strange reason. Obviously my problem, not yours. Many people don't realize epoxies can 'dry' (cure) under water, though I expect the ones made for that specific application are probably formulated differently to maximize their performance. Typical epoxies are actually quite water absorptive, even cured, and setting them under water for any period of time results in them clouding, which goes away with drying. In THAT case the epoxy actually IS drying. :-/ Yeah, sure, grab that goofy press guy's thunder. If anyone here hasn't seen that channel it is pretty much a riot. The plasticine, or whatever they are, pressings are a good place to start. He's a total 'idiot' with a great sense of humor, if you have a strange one like I do. He actually does some interesting semi 'sciency' stuff, as well. "do it again, do it again"... reminds me of one of the characters the kids used to watch on Nickelodean, or maybe later, Adult Swim....Cheese, except he says it really quickly and more times. That, and Angry Beavers were too shows I actually found funny, especially Beavers. Futurama was pretty decent, too. "Where are we going to get a doomsday machine?" Old man raises several on an elevator floor. "Oh, I suppose I could spare ONE". And your 'cutting edge' in the description....GROAN....good one. :-) My kids were home schooled to (academic reasons) and it does provide somewhat different 'results'. Often people less afraid to act silly when they feel like it, case in point. Spectacular knives, as always. I should just forego that comment. It seems to be a given. The flip check for parallelism, yeah, good tip, works with checking straightness of straight edges, spirit level calibrations, etc. as well. I call it a reciprocity test, probably the wrong term, but it has a certain je ne sais quoi. It is amazing how accurate properly scribed lines can be, you can just 'drop tools' into them for near perfect set up, if done carefully. Kevlar is a vicious material to work as well, tool edge longevity wise, it used to dull very high quality steel scissors in no time, and they stood up to fiberglass quite well, amazingly well, actually.

For an integral like this, a Wa-handle construction would be a simple and solid way to fit the blade and block together, right? Especially the carbon fiber. Epoxy and a pin should still be plenty enough to prevent the handle from twisting too. Regards from Norway 🙂

These are amazing and I apsire to your level of quality. But all the ads in the middle of the video were infuriating

That's bizarre that I just got one advert. I heard you can get an adblocker to take care of them, but I also heard that the Royers will get less ad revenue if you block or skip their ads

@@allencummings7564 odd indeed! I got no less than 3 mid-video ads while I watched this morning 🤷‍♂️ I'll look into adblocker options - thanks for the tip!

@@KyleRoyerKnives LOL! You are correct, sir. You are an amazing man in skill and person. God Bless you in all you do. Sincerely, it is an honor to watch what you do and the fact you take the time to share that with all of us. That is a huge task in itself, let alone building the knives that you make.
