Tinola? When you are in different country and the real ingredients are not available, use the vegetables that are similar and available to your country. I do it a lot of time, since the availability is hard to find. In Chicken tinola, i prepare: ginger, onion, garlic, bay leaves, black pepper sometimes tomatoes. I sautéed all the ingredients first and the cleaned chicken until almost brown, add salt, fish sauce if you have otherwise just soy sauce. Add water in your liking, add kohlrabi roots if you have, baby bochoy, or water crest at the end of boiling. Enjoy try to add vermicelli or called mongbean thread if you dont want to eat rice. It serves and replace the rice, it is healthier. God bless you all 🙏 💖

@@vivajones9472 as you say so "if you have". so do not command or ask valentina what to put in there. because that is the only available stuff in her place✌️✌️

@gleniepasia2551 I'm not comanding. I'm just suggesting in her next future tinola. Sometimes, when you live out of Asia and the weather does not permit you to grow exotic vegies you take the one that is almost similar flavor of the vegies. Don't take me wrong we are here being entertained thru all of these bloggers, and it is a community among us. Im simply suggesting not commanding😭

Suggestion: For vegetable use spinach or cabbage, no parsley and lemon grass because these alters the taste of the soup. Also if you can buy chicken buillon or chicken broth or stock from the grocery, you can add it to the soup to make it more tasty. Do you know that if you don't put the vegetables and potatoes but put rice instead (2 cups) you will be eating arroz caldo?

I don't understand why some commenters are looking for the ingredients that aren't available in Russia. There's no papaya, malunggay or moringa, sayote and fish sauce available in their place that's why she used other ingredients as alternatives. Soy sauce, salt and fish sauce are just the same. They have salty taste. Doubt yourselves if she puts sugar in it. As long as it's delicious, it's not your problem anymore. Anyway the kids love it.

It is better you keep the broth because all the good taste was already in it. Sometimes the broth turned more cloudy or darker than usual depends on the ingredients used or sometimes if the meat or spices was a little burnt, but it is ok. The most important thing is everybody enjoy & loves the dish. You can also use Zucchini or cabbage that is more available in Russia as alternative for papaya.

Now more of less , your russian kitchen would be filipino kitchen as well my dear,,, cheers....

Hi Val i’m an avid fan of yours. And i also loves cooking and eating. Tinolang manok might be substituted with cabbage or spinach or chili pepper leaves or turnips. You may use that minced lemon grass but put it in an empty tea bag. For green papaya substitute, you maybuse zucchini or cauliflower. If you use too many herbs leaves it may affect generally the taste. See you here in Ph soon. God bless you and your fam.

The ingredients for tinolang manok are garlic, ginger, onion, unripe papaya or chayote, chili leaves or malunggay leaves. You put patis (fish sauce) or salt for taste. Never put dill, rosemary, or any other condiments or herbs or else it would taste differently and will not be a filipino dish anymore. Just a suggestion. ❤

She said she added rosemary & parsley as alternative for malunggay leaves because that is the greens available. I saw them used soy sauce in their foods (even in Phils.) if there is no fish sauce available. They love to add soy sauce in their foods. I never tried tinola with soy sauce.
