U think that's weird? They used 3 iPhones instead of one Samsung that natively can record 3 cameras at once at 120fps... 🤨 I'm surprised they didn't know that... do they have a contract with apple or something lol, weird
@hanson2331
@hanson2331 Жыл бұрын
@@Riley_Christian I think using IPhones would draw a lot more viewers, because the majority uses iPhones. And the whole point of the video is turning a simple relatable everyday item into a cinematography tool. Besides, you really think the video would be as interesting?
@Riley_Christian
@Riley_Christian Жыл бұрын
@@hanson2331 Samsung actually sells slightly more phones than apple (and not even taking google and other phone brands into consideration). And people can barely afford one phone let alone 3 lol. Besides I think it would be more interesting to show off that you can achieve this awesome effect with only one everyday device. But thats just my opinion, I just didn't expect this weird work around from a tech channel like them.
@hanson2331
@hanson2331 Жыл бұрын
@@Riley_Christian Yeah I mean, the idea was designed so you wouldn’t expect it. Subjectivity and sales aside, I sincerely don’t think using a Samsung device would’ve been a more attention warranting idea than using 3 iPhones. I also feel that Samsung devices already receive a decent exposure in cinematography, and Corridor comes up with everything but reused ideas.

Here's a potential issue with the current setup: One of the phones is mounted upside down. This means the rolling shutter rolls up, not down. This means that when moving sideways fast vertical structures are slanted in the opposite direction compared to the other two phones. Mounting it using the same orientation as the other two would fix this, but most likely make operating a bit harder.

I was thinking for the clamp. Current platform for phone, extends past edge of phone at three or four points. Make a hole at these points. Have a post with a flat part at one end. Post goes through hole, flat part holds phone to platform. For securing I had initially envisioned a corkscrew on the post, a dial in the platform, and turning would tighten or loosen. But to simplify that idea, I think you could do like a flat wedge on the platform that slides into a slot on the post of the gripper

Haha flagship phones are definitely at that level since the S20/iPhone 10, massive leap from the razor phones of 300s era. S22 is definitely better at night, and has better color and the super slow mo but it's not major, just personal preference. Both can stabilize too. Although carrier insurance for 7 a month, or Costco's square trade/allstate with 4 deductibled is definitely way better and cheaper than applecares overpriced 2 deductibles haha just funny that they're Apple cultists, i mean that pro is mostly the same as the regular 13, the telephoto is the only real difference besides the OLED, mainly just marketing. I've sold phones for 5 years and it's funny seeing people have that bizarre devotion to that apple logo, even non tech savvy people willing to spend so much more for a basic phone, or the odd tech savvy people happy with losing a lot of features and options, idk, definitely get cult vibes haha ill still prefer my 22 ultra, way more options, fine tuning, can have my PS2 and other emulators

Nowadays, my closest interaction with film/tech stuff is sitting here watching videos like this, while I slowly die inside.

9:13 you can start recording just by hitting the volume button and you can just activate Siri and tell her to open the camera and if all else fails the iPhone 13 had a feature in the settings in which u can program the phone to do a specific action such as opening the camera through a triple or a double tap of the back of the iPhone.

I'd personally would have made a custom phone case for each phone with some kind of ridge on the back, which could then slide and lock in the holder. When someone quickly needs their phone, for example to answer a very important call, it's a bit wonky to have a case with a sliding mechanism on it. Still, it does the job, it is a lot more secure, and the alignment would be perfect while the magnets could still be off by a bit.

@@SirWrender ain't that the case though, trying to design a product that solves the problem in the time given. I'm sure if we had enough version possibilities, you could create the 'perfect' rig. Yet I hope it doesn't take away from people's view of the first initial step!

My first thought was instead of 3d printing anything was literally just using multiple car phone mounts on basically a stick or a plank. There's plenty of those that use a case and a mount with a magnet. But I also understand the more DIY aspect of it.

Why not have L slots and slide the phones in? That will stop the phones from dropping out, with the magnet locks keeping the phone from sliding out.

I have been doing these types of shots ever since DSLR’s took off and cameras were small enough to use 2 Canon 7Ds side by side hand held. The 1 thing he is not doing is using the telephoto to follow the action. If your telephoto lens composition catches the action then all of your wider will shots. Never gage your shot based on the wide lens.

12:05 because you are using glue stick on your printbed. If it's PLA don't use anything, if it's PETG, spray some windex on a cloth and wipe the printbed with it, wait till it's dry and print without an issue. Also you should set up Spaghetti Detective, it uses a webcam and AI to determine if the print failed or not (hence the name), and notifies you, or pauses the print automatically (whatever you set it to do). It's free if you make your own server (really easy)

When you're printing to test the magnet ring fitting, I would have taken a very small slice of just the ring slot and printed that in a fraction of the time to test for fit/tolerance, THEN when that's dialed in you can move those dimensions back to the full model and print that. That was a lot of wasted plastic/time to print the whole thing before finding out the dimensions/tolerances were off. Super awesome work nonetheless!
