It's pretty crazy how much Apple fails to deliver a good mouse. He owns many apple products and in every instance he can he upsells said products rather than being critical. Although he has no issues being critical with Android or Windows based products and will readily point out and emphasize their flaws, which again he avoids with Apple. This works out for Apple as well because MKBHD fits a certain demographic and companies love to show to the public how supportive they are of said demographics. If the toughest question you have for Tim Cook is about the ergonomics of the magic mouse, that was the single question they let you ask to pretend not to be a softball. How about asking them about the class action lawsuits, where they knew they had designed their iPhone 6 to bend the motherboard and break internally, and the iPhone 7 had the exact same issue, and in all cases, as always, they refused to warranty any of it, until they lost class action lawsuits and had to. Glue didnt solve motherboard deflection. It just made repair much harder, with no benefit to anyone.

@gameboyAdvSpDSi6 ай бұрын
This was a tense watch. I feel Apple has been courting Marques in a way that's deliberative and patient, as Apple is. They give him products earlier, they start him off with executive, non-CEO interviews, they quote him in a keynote, and they give him exclusive access to their testing facility. This interview with Tim Cook is a culmination of this process, but it didn't go the way either side wanted. Apple and MKBHD have an equal number of KZbin subscribers basically, and Apple knows his influence. It's not enough to break the company, but a sour relationship wouldn't be a nice thing for Apple. Apple interviews are so, so buttoned and borderline rehearsed, but given MKBHD's scale and influence, he seemingly was granted a freedom I haven't seen given to others---even to Dua Lipa. Just see the candor of Brian Tong or an iJustine interview---or how Dave2D was treated when filming in Apple Park v how Marques was given a garden. Of all the CEO interviews, Apple + Tim Cook have the most to chip at, especially with a tech reviewer knowing what being good to the consumer looks like via 15 years of reviewing hardware and software, and how Apple edges the entire user base of an excellent experience. I am very fascinated by this video and the details are SO loud. I am glad this interview happened, and all-in-all I am glad Marques has gone from Kobe to Tim, but boy is the top of this mountain frigid. (I hope this comment doesn't get deleted; I am but a keen observer.)

If only Marques had written the scripted part… that would be at least a little redeeming.
@daveeeeeeed5 ай бұрын
Wdyem tho... How is it scripted
@MerlinErdogmus5 ай бұрын
@@daveeeeeeed The debate about whether a video is scripted or not often hinges on certain observable characteristics. In this case, several indicators strongly suggest that the video in question was scripted, leading to a perception of inauthenticity among viewers. **1. Consistent and Polished Language** One of the most noticeable signs that a video is scripted is the use of consistent, polished language throughout. In the video, the speaker's language was remarkably smooth, with no hesitations, filler words, or stumbles. This kind of linguistic precision is typically not found in unscripted speech, where people naturally pause, correct themselves, or use filler words like "um" and "uh." The absence of these verbal imperfections suggests that the speaker was following a pre-written script to ensure clarity and professionalism. **2. Lack of Genuine Emotional Reactions** Another clear indication that the video was scripted is the lack of genuine emotional reactions. Throughout the video, the speaker's responses to various topics and questions were unnaturally measured and predictable. There were no spontaneous expressions of surprise, confusion, or laughter, which are common in unscripted settings where people react naturally to unexpected information or interactions. This controlled delivery points to the use of a script, where the speaker is more focused on delivering the planned content than on engaging with the material emotionally. **3. Seamless Transitions and Timing** The video featured seamless transitions between topics and perfectly timed exchanges, further suggesting a scripted nature. In natural conversations, people often segue between topics with some level of awkwardness or require clarification, leading to a more fragmented flow. The fact that the video maintained a smooth and uninterrupted narrative flow indicates that it was meticulously planned and likely rehearsed, as scripts allow for precise timing and logical progression that are difficult to achieve spontaneously. **4. Predictable and Formulaic Responses** The predictability of the speaker's responses is another key factor that implies the video was scripted. Each question was met with a well-prepared, on-point answer, devoid of the spontaneity and variability typically seen in unscripted dialogues. This suggests that the speaker was following a predetermined script that anticipated the questions and provided the corresponding responses, thus eliminating the element of surprise or the need to think on their feet. **5. Visual and Behavioral Cues** Finally, visual and behavioral cues observed in the video also support the argument that it was scripted. The speaker frequently glanced at a fixed point, possibly a teleprompter, and maintained a composed demeanor throughout, indicative of reading or reciting prepared lines. Additionally, the consistent eye contact with the camera and the absence of natural, spontaneous body language further imply that the speaker was adhering to a rehearsed script rather than engaging in an impromptu discussion.

Yes, the current generation of AI, including models like ChatGPT-4 and Claude 3.5, falls under the category of Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI). Here's an overview to explain this concept in more detail: What is Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)? ANI refers to AI systems that are specialized in a narrow domain. These systems are designed to perform specific tasks and cannot operate outside their trained parameters. They excel in their particular areas but do not possess general intelligence or understanding. They rely on pre-defined algorithms and extensive datasets to function effectively in their specialized fields. Examples of ANI: ChatGPT-4: Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT-4 is a language model designed to generate human-like text based on the input it receives. It can answer questions, provide recommendations, and engage in conversation but does not have understanding or awareness beyond the text it processes. Claude 3.5: Claude, developed by Anthropic, is another example of a language model AI. It functions similarly to ChatGPT, providing responses and performing text-based tasks within the scope of its training. Characteristics of ANI: Task-Specific: ANI systems are built to handle specific tasks, such as language translation, image recognition, or playing chess. They are highly efficient within their domain but lack the ability to generalize knowledge across different fields (Investopedia) (iClarified). Pre-Defined Scope: These systems operate within the boundaries of their programming and training data. They do not possess self-awareness, consciousness, or the ability to understand context beyond their programmed capabilities (9to5Mac) (AppleMagazine). Dependence on Data: ANI relies heavily on large datasets and predefined rules to perform tasks. The quality and extent of the training data significantly influence their performance and accuracy (Investopedia) (iClarified). Comparison to Other AI Types: Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): AGI refers to AI systems with generalized cognitive abilities, akin to human intelligence. These systems can understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a wide range of tasks and domains. AGI remains a theoretical concept and has not yet been achieved. Artificial Superintelligence (ASI): ASI goes beyond AGI, representing a level of intelligence far superior to human intelligence. ASI would theoretically be capable of outperforming humans in virtually all areas, including creativity, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. ASI is a speculative concept and is far from being realized. Conclusion: Current AI technologies, such as ChatGPT-4 and Claude 3.5, exemplify Artificial Narrow Intelligence. They are powerful tools for specific applications but lack the broader understanding and versatility of AGI or ASI. Their development marks significant progress in AI, but they remain within the domain of task-specific intelligence.

Apple caring for repairability? *chokes on drink* Yeah, their authorized repair program takes away options to repair anything. You are not allowed to fix anything, you just sell people half of their laptop again, when all they need is a small chip that Apple has not fixed for years and years, despite knowing about it. Why? Because they have destroyed ways for independent repair shops to actually fix their stuff - Apple wants to have monopoly on "fixing"their products, when they just use that to get more money out of their customers.

Don't think it's as scripted as you think. Tim has had massive amounts of media training (including interview preps) and has talked about Apple's products for years, so it's not like he is really saying anything new, including the AI part. Sure someone at Apple might have gone through the questions to make sure there isn't anything that would hugely controversial, but overall, it was a pretty informal, quick and easy interview, in the sense that he didn't have to talk about numbers, or wasn't really held accountable for anything he said.

Apple doesnt want to receive what the Rabbit device received 😂😂😂

Did we watch the same interview? He didn't push him to give an unofficial rank on the products he lists, he didn't call Tim out on the ergonomics of the magic mouse.

You need to keep the positive energy, especially as a CEO in order to keep all the backlash out.

you know for a fact he only uses trackpads, even on desktop, or a third party mouse lmao. They really need to think of a better mouse, I would love to buy a GOOD one for my macbook

@@HearMeLearn I just ended up getting a G305 and a Superlight as the go-to mice. Both are great in terms of the sensor reliability and price. The Superlight's price may differ by a lot in each country.

@@jonny11bonk oh I'm sure, I use a superlight on my gaming pc, I just want a good apple mouse to pair with my macbook, I want it to have all the nice pairing and gesture features but without the horrible ergonomics, so I just have to wait for them to update the mouse
