Man, that whole "wash my hands after 5 minutes" with animals hit home. I was absolutely the same, until my wife convinced me we should get a dag. Not only did that sentiment completely disappear after 5 minutes (wipe off on my pants now, thank you very much), but our little psycho (as I lovingly call him) has had some fun game nights beside me. I can't believe how much I 180'd on dogs & how quickly... After we had some fights & then got to just chill out the 2of us, but now I've got some fun dog bite scars & a library of unplayed VR games to look forward to now that my arm has healed, lol. Good times!
