Out of all of the ways I've imagined how Kramer got into making bows that is the best by far.

The closest gloves made like this are old Ben Person gloves and an old 1950's to end of 1960 Bear model that came out in 1950's sometime to end of1960. The Ben Person Glove was made for years. The gloves are using only the hole, you slip the grip into. If I had to get the glove fixed, I would just ask you to sew up almost all of the slit with about 2--3 stiches down from the hole so I can still get the glove on the button but so that it does not stretch out and go the wrong way for my hand. Of course I like the, type that are like the Cordovan Traditional Glove sold on 3 Rivers with the extra leather spot on top as a spot but I got cheap TopArchery version off Amazon where only the top is real ground leather with thin pressed leather overlay for now until they fail. What I wanted was the arm guard in the cutaway two strap style with holes but most are either a rougher nylon Cordura outer in the right thinness or are thick padded with a smoother nylon Cordura outer and neither are what I wanted in an arm guard so I got the set since at the time they had the arm guard sold on own but Out of stock not sure when or if we are getting it back in forcing me to buying the glove and armguard combo. The synthetic leather is fine for the arm guard but the glove when it fails if the cheap glove did not last very long for the number of shots, I am buying the Cordovan Traditional Glove off 3 Rivers.

The thing I've found with some gloves is the seam on the tip of the fingers affects release.

You might want to slightly stagger the holes if you think putting them closer together might give a more precise fit? Have always liked the nostalgia of the three finger glove with childhood images of Fred Bear and Howard Hill. I think it depends on how you release the arrow as to whether it will work out to consistently shoot well with a glove. I prefer a tab or a soft leather thin work glove. Older style archer gloves tended to be a thicker leather and created more potential for string pluck in my case. I use a tab that allows me to wear a warm wool glove under the tab. Your glove design looks interesting. Thanks for sharing the passion.

Instead of using the pin, you could always switch to the hook pin, like what you find on boots or other items that use a strap. That way when you slip the slit/hole over it it will hook it and stay in place without worry of popping off...😉

There's only one way to properly orient the button punch hole . For longevity punch a tiny hole at the slit end to stop splitting . finally hand stitch around the button hole /slit. Cardovan leather is best for finger covers . I have not yet tried kangaroo leather which shows great promise .

On a knife sheath with the slit hole that was loose, I sewed in one, perfectly placed stitch across the slit..instant perfection.

I've had one glove for the 9 years I've been learning archery. It's a deerskin glove with suede finger pads, back and palm strap with a Velcro wrist securement. Recently in the last year I've been putting most of my focus into learning historical archery, meaning sometimes holding my arrows in my draw hand. But the palm cover got in the way so much I eventually took my knife to it and very diligently cut the palm strap off leaving just the back and wrist strap intact. I loved the way it worked, unfortunately the age of my glove finally caught up with it. The index pad wore through and the seam between the pad and deerskin split in the first knuckle crease of the middle finger, so it's retired now. I didn't want to buy another nice glove just to take a knife to it as soon as it arrived to get my modification back. So after a Google search I found this glove and it looks nearly exactly like what I was envisioning to build since I kept coming up with nothing in my search for a new glove, I also do leather work, but now I don't have to build my own. I'm so excited to get one ordered, my fingers are getting raw shooting barehanded.

what would be better, is a peg shaped like )(. The stretch of the leather would allow the hole to slip over the top wide portion of the peg, then settle into the thin center. the peg wouldn't need to be any taller than it currently is, just a few mm.

With the weather the way it is these days in MN I was only able to shoot my new glove once. But I did better than expected. 1st I shot my Kangaroo glove to get warmed up. Then in 🥶 & windy conditions I shot the new glove. I noticed that even with my long fingers that I needed to put the button on the tightest position. With other leather gloves I'm between a M & a L which makes me a ML. With those options I found that with this glove that it's more about the tension on the fingers that u get is monumental to getting the feel of the string I don't get with a L glove & would never come close to with a medium where I feel that my fingers r getting jammed into those 3 finger holes.
