The bouquet looks great!!! I did my own flowers for my wedding, and they turned out amazing using Trader Joe's flowers! We practiced making bouquets, but didn't practice wrapping the stems in ribbon - it was pretty tricky to get the ribbon to look nice around the stems. We also used extra flowers to make arrangements for the cake table, the head table, and the table with seating cards. Saved SO MUCH MONEY doing it ourselves! Also, make sure you have enough vases for all the bouquets! My maid of honor, mom, and future MIL made all the arrangements the day before and kept them in vases overnight so they stayed super fresh. I'm so excited for more wedding prep in videos!!

As long as you aren’t getting married in the winter, I would find a local gardener on KZbin and buy flowers off them! And if you are getting married in Dallas, you’ll have even more flower options in the winter. Florals are expensive because florists have to ship in the individual flowers. If you get the flowers locally they’ll be super affordable and the gardener may even make the arrangements for you. Making arrangements the day before the wedding is going to be stressful

I did my own flowers for my wedding last month (we ended up buying fake flowers that looked very real and we made different floral arrangements out of them and also we will try to sell the floral arrangements online). The one thing we got from the florist was my bridal bouquet. Oh and I also baked and decorated my wedding cake myself and it turned out so well and saved us big bucks!

Love that you want to make your own flower arrangements! We did this for my wedding (my sisters and mom from both my side and my husband’s). I would recommend one thing! Make all the flower arrangements, bouquet’s, boutonnieres throwing bouquets, etc but NOT your bouquet! You can save a ton of money but not have to stress about that one thing!

Kacey, the wedding flowers look great, but a suggestion? Get rid of all those green leaves. No bride ever has leaves in with her flowers. I used a wedding planner & no regrets. Costco and Sams Club has great bulk floral on their websites! I did the flowers for my sister and my best friend’s wedding and it was very affordable. Also if you like the look of peonies, cabbage roses is the perfect alternative! Wish I was Dallas based I would totally do your flowers!

I used to work at Kroger in Illinois many years ago and actually had Kroger do my wedding flowers. Not sure if they still do that but it saved us a lot of money over an actual florist and the flowers were beautiful.

I also didn’t want to spend money on flowers but instead of using real flowers, I bought something called sola wood flowers and then assembled a bouquet from that! And then did smaller versions for my bridesmaids. It’s a keepsake from our wedding that I can pass on to our children if they want it. It’s handle is wrapped in a piece of my moms wedding suit and then I have a broach from my grandmother attached to it so it also served as my “something old”. ❤ I didn’t use flowers anywhere else in the wedding and I don’t regret it. I put my money into the things that meant the most to us.

I love the bouquet! A tip I learned when I got married, hydrangeas wilt VERY easily and need constant water. So I suggest making sure you have extras that you can easily swap out, or use a different flower. Can't wait to see more wedding content! 💕

Speaking of crew scheduling, Jetset Jess just shared an interesting little tidbit recently. Apparently on her last leg of a three-day from DFW > FLL, when she boarded (before passengers) there was another AA FA on board flying non-rev. They talked for a bit, then Jess asked her if she'd like to work the flight, because Jess really needed to go to ORD on some personal business. The other FA said OK, so they called crew scheduling, the other FA got to work Jess' flight, Jess ended up dropping that last leg of her three-day and flew non-rev to ORD. Interesting little switcheroo there, eh? Anyway, as always, Cheers from GEG!

So Kacey good luck with the four-day trip don't get too tired, I hope you can grab some extra food at some airport even though that container with the soup looked as if it could feed the five thousand for a few days. I completely understand your preference to NOT work 4 days in a row. I am recently retired but for 13 yrs I worked 2.5 hrs from home at 10 hrs a day. It was too far to go home at night, to have only about 8 - 9 hrs at home, so I stayed mostly with a friend. We would work two days, three or four. No one liked our 4 days. I hated them, but of course we still have to work. We were always exhausted by the 4th day. On my 4th day, I would go home as quick as possible. Oh yes! I grow lots of flowers for fun! Great job making your own bouquet. I did not realize how easy it is to make your own bouquets. Good job!

I’m getting married April next year and I learned that you can buy flowers in bulk cheaper at Costco or Sam’s Club for weddings. This is what I’m planning on doing. I bought my floral containers from Amazon to put my flowers in there disposable.

I've been wearing MAC Studio Fix for years! It's a great cosmetic staple. I always meal prep too, and luckily my airline only has three day trips, unless you get a Hawaii trip that can be a four day. The bouquet turned out nice! 💐

@@KaceyCassady Neither did I. We paid for our wedding and did it ourselves. We got our wedding cake from Market Street. Places love to upcharge when you say wedding. But no matter what you will have a beautiful wedding because it will be yours. :) When it comes to dresses try as many as you can and go to multiple places. Make it a girls day. Happy to give advice if you need any locally in Dallas.

If you want someone to do your flowers, see if you can find someone who isn’t a florist, but maybe someone who’s in training if that makes sense. I used a horticultural student (a friend of a friend) to do my flowers. She did great and it was much cheaper.
