I'm not even going to watch one minute of the video, and I think it's hilarious if anyone besides the author finds anything interesting about a bent piece of s-crap car with 400k. Yes, genius, if you paid a single penny more than the salvage-yard instant-cash price of $250 to $400, *you did indeed pay too much.*

I think it hilarious that you clicked on the video just to bitch about it. Get a life. Also Scott has been doing this for over 20 years. If he weren't making money at it he wouldn't be doing it. So just ease your ignorant keyboard warrior ass back into your recliner and keep your mouth shut.

I watch the videos because of the tear down and repair process , always something to be learned and every car is different in there own way, no matter the mileage or cost at the end of the day it's a damaged car being brought back to life . The cars that are bought strictly for parts also play a big part in bringing other cars back to roadworthy condition . 👍

Rust is just about all that will kill these things. A friend of mine had a 94 that had ~350k on it when he picked up in high school, sold it with over 500k on the clock when we were in college. Next owner took it a little over 600k and it was parked along side the road with a for sale sign on it, got creamed in the middle of the night by a drunk driver. All my friend did in the 350k-500k ownership was normal maintenance, and he had one of the rear brake drums seize

This is a sound business investment. I recently had a project where the parts were going to cost about $2500. Bought an auction wreck for that $2500, fixed the first vehicle and had enough good stuff left to fix two more "totals". I even still have a good running V-8 and many small brackets and parts people don't realize the need until they do. Still need to see a Drive, Crash, Fix, Repeat shirt for sale on your site.....

Have a 2008 Civic, have put it back together after I got it back from my daughter, its condition is 500 miles at Bristol. I didn't get it perfect, but I got it running. It's better than my F-150 on gas for my daily commute of 40 miles. Did upgrade the front struts bolts with the one you can adjust camber with. They're little tanks.

Scott I am looking forward to your next rebuild! It's cool that you were able to get a good deal on your parts with the 400K Civic! Even though rust is a problem for you over there you should see a car from Greys Harbor County, Washington State! Man you can put your fingers through the rust holes that is how bad they can be over here! I live in Eastern Washington that is Semi Arid and you can get great cars to rebuild or restore here but I totally avoid Western Washington cars! Especially Greys Harbor County and the other counties right on the Pacific Coast!

Gotta love the people who don't get it, you need a barrel to handle the overflow of hater tears on this. reality is that parting out a car can be a significant part of repair businesses, especially if you need the parts for something else you are already working on. $600 for a parts car that saves you $1500 and leaves you with a bunch more parts to sell is a super bargain. It gives a shop the chance to turn time into money, which is the actual intention. Keep your eye on the prize.
