March 2023. Landed NAIA spent 3 nights just outside BGC. Then flew to Cebu 5 nights IT park which is convenient base but a little dull. Next fast ferry to Tagbilaran port where the lady I rented my accommodation from picked me up and drove to Doljo beach on the NW side. I just stayed and never went anywhere else. I hadn’t rode a scooter in decades but on Panglao it’s so easy. If you ride over to Oceanica resort (formerly South Palms resort) you can park your bike and access the postcard beach and their restaurant. On Doljo beach they have the Moadto strip mall which again is on a postcard beach. Multiple daily flights to Manila 1 hr away.

I live in cebu city 7 years now, most of the time in IT park. It is very dull, most places are dull in the PI after awhile. But most men go for sex, then back to their country. Its nice to travel to new beaches, maybe 1 or 2 weeks at the most. I am going to move back to USA, then visit the PI when i am bored. I am older, and the hospitals in the PI are horrible

Brent, you. Nailed it.. I have been bouncing around the Philippines for two years trying to find a location that suits my lifestyle, found Panglao and have been here the last 6 months… Alona beach is the third best beach on Panglao. Everything you mentioned was dead on, particularly about the traffic and roads… brownouts are at similar frequency to anywhere else.. glad you are enjoying it…

If you have a serious medical emergency in Bohol you're a goner. It's a slow ferry ride to Cebu and then you'd have to navigate Cebu traffic from the port to an advanced care hospital. Waiting for a Bohol outbound flight and getting from the airport to the hospital isn't much faster.

Alona Beach is super nice Was there in 08 and a few more times , last time was 2015, was getting commercialized, but again, very chill beach. Stayed on the beach only, didn't do the C hills or rest of the sight seeing....miss Alona Tropical resort, was at end of the beach near rock wall, now super resort territory. But if swimming and white sand and beautiful sunsets is your thing, this is the spot. Looking forward to getting back tbere Thanks for your video s

@@jeffjeff4477I don't know about that. From what I was told it was found by a farmer on his property. I did not research it. Google it. It's a pretty little place to visit if you are in the area.

I'm stuck on moving to Bohol. I will learn the language before I move there and I was told Boholano is a redneck variety of Cebuano even though Tagalog is spoken everywhere there. IMO, Panglao is way too touristy and Alona Beach is average at best. Ferry is scheduled for 2 hours to Cebu. In reality one and a half hours to one hour 45 minutes. I did like the food options too because there’s an awesome vegan place there couple different ones actually. But it’s definitely worth a visit to check out and rent a scooter. Brent did you go to Hinagdanan Cave? Impressive. But I would recommend going there early to get there by 8 AM before the crowds and you can have a nice swim. Peace brother keep up the good work 🙌

Is the beach at Villa de Gloria swimmable? I live in Cebu, my gf is a Boholana from Tagbilaran. I've been to eight different islands and all of the popular resort places in the Philippines and i still haven't found a beach that is as nice or as swimmable as even a mediocre beach on Oahu. We've been to dozens of beaches on Bohol.

Could you please elaborate more? What makes the beach non-swimmable? Rocks and jellyfish?
@wanderingdoc50753 күн бұрын
@@HowtoLiv365 Rocks, sharp floor along the shore break and deeper, seaweed mass, oil and dirt (from boats), etc. I think people who said Philippines has nice beaches haven't traveled. 40+ countries, even an average free beach in Miami is better than a beach on a resort in PH you have to pay for.

Why not walk around the area while your talking? A mirror reflect while filming yourself while walking around any given location would make a strong video concept and would give viewers a chance to see the surroundings. If you try it for a month and don't get more views I understand. But, its worth a try.

RETIRE IN PHILIPPINES IN 2035 BECAUSE WE HAVE THIS: Philippines will be building the SKY MANILA, they would put Metro Manila's 100 km x 100 km land area up by 50 meters using 500,000 posts. There will be three levels, the ground level is the existing land, all vehicles would use the ground level, hundreds of MRT and LRT would use the second level and therefore reducing massive amount of vehicles using the ground level and less traffic, the third level would be vehicle less area, yes no cars, trucks, jeepneys. SKY MANILA is walking , jogging, biking, scooting area. It will be full of skyscrapers no less than 300 meters tall, condos, hotels and offices. Hundreds of parks, huge malls, millions of restaurants, thousands of hotels, several thousands of factories using all electric. All vehicles will be full electric, non-electric vehicle are not allowed. Many swimming pools, basketball, tennis, football courts, and many sports venues. Hundreds of entertainment arenas. It will have airport for helicopters or any vertical take off planes. This will be finished in 2035. Flood will be the thing in the past. From Filipino concept.

Have you actually swam at Alona beach ? Even before you are knee deep, sea weed forest starts and goes all the way up to the surface. You have to walk for hundreds of meters in sea weed before you can find any depth to swim. Alona beach is so over-rated. When you walk on the Alona shore, have you wondered why there are so few people in the sea and 99% of the people are on the shore on the dry sand ? It is because when you get in the water, you are not stepping on sand anymore but on rocks and sea weed.
