Try the n24 time challenge with Porsche and telemetry! It’s very interesting and proving another point! Tires have a window, first lap is warmup only, second is ALMOST warmed up and if you take it too hard on lap 3, rear tires are above 68 and you loose time and Porsche gets sketchy!

Getting weight transfer correct before leaning into that weight through the bend prevents premature tyre wear. You can feel that through the steering wheel as it stays really heavy and grips harder preventing slip and slip ruins tyres. I made a set of softs last all 13 laps in race C this week just to see if it could be done.

I'm so glad you said that! Diving into corners totally depending on grip is definitely no good, activation of the proper weight transfer is the way, or the golden rule of reducing wear, the 2nd old school way is slow in, fast out

Thanks for this, really interesting. I’d love to see a repeat of this around Spa or LeMans to see how the wet weather tyres react, especially doing things like driving off line on a drying track to cool the wet tyres. I always do that and I think it helps but it would be great to see how much impact it has

​@DILUSI it's not a mod. It's an android app called sim dashboard. Goes off the ps5 ip address

All the data he generates by driving goes to the gt7/psn servers. Everything he sees comes from there. It all flows through the network connection to and from the ps4. So, if you know the packet headers and what to look for, one way to do it is you run the Ethernet through a box that captures and saves every line of that. Then dig through it. It’s a massive number of lines but it’s just text so it’s not hard to capture it. How he overlayed it on the ps5 in realtime is a sweet trick, even if it was done later.

Bro I’d coast around turn 3 if I was you, coast early so u ain’t gotta break which will heat the tyres. If ur not leading u can use slipstream to lift and coast, which I notice u dont always do. Very good tyre model gt7 has here it’s more realistic than people give credit for

Byt have u tried gong od the line to cool em ? Thats what i do in races.. especialy in the rain when its finished, catching those wet patches.. and i think it works. Maybe you could check that out in detail 😉

Great Video, interesting information. The tires mostly drop into blue (cold) very fast, nerver stay long in green. So the best working temperature range / window seems very small / short. Would be nice to know if this is realistic. Everyone who watch motorsport knows tire temps are very important, and it's not easy to keep tires in there, but is it realy so tiny???

Want to conserve tyres.....turn off all assists apart from weak abs and drive smoother, and thats it. Learn smooth lines, throttle off before breaking, don't brake and turn, smooth throttle input etc. Smooth is fast, fast is smooth

are you using simhub or some such program? because I've been using my simhub telemetry data with gt7 since the day the plugin launched lol and it's my absolute favourite telemetry program just because it's like the swiss army knife of telemetry data

a cheap addressable led strip and an arduino combined with simhub telemetry data has given me the most amazing RPM gauge under my tv, and a giant mirror to bounce that light up to my ceiling and it's so nice. so heckin' nice

@@Kireth furthermore, I've actually got the led strip cut to size to fit under my tv perfectly, and the remaining small strip leftover is on the top of my tv. and depending on the race, it will either show my turbo status or my fuel status. so if my ceiling starts glowing red at me not in time with my RPM, I know my fuel is low. all of this requires some basic soldering skills but could probably be setup without those skills if the right adapter pieces were used in a most clunky fashion.

I hate VR racing because there are no VR only lobbies. Flatland stickmen get more info on screen and whinge incessantly when we fail to see them in our blindspots because we don’t use radar mode. We need more overlays, penalty annotations in our rear view mirrors, and tyre temps would seriously help too.

The reason folks think GT has simple tire model is simply because so many influencers are desperate to call it a SIMcade without knowing what in the eF they're talking about I've always said GT had tire temperature because I noticed colder tires after the pits, & even tire flex has been visually variable since Gran Turismo on PS3, but people like harping on an' going on about blah blah console game, blah blah SIMcade, & that's why they aren't any good at it. They echo bad information for decades to try & make it canon, whereas I've been using the app & know they are verifiably incorrect

I use Race Dash on IPhone. Just needs to be on the same wifi network as your PS5 and just works. Not possible to race in VR and see tyre data from any pc or phone app but if you have a racing wheel you soon learn how to conserved your tyres through feel.

@@chinacasher2285 the video output for KZbin is a composite output for streaming. Maybe it’s playable this way on a monitor, but it won’t work in the VR headset. Happy to be corrected if it does though
