I've needed a winch multiple times since buying our homestead. I was stuck for three hours last year until a friend pulled me out. This winch setup has changed everything.

Nice work. I would have a hard time trusting 110v FluxCore GMAW welds for those frame horns. As a tip make sure on that thick stuff to always weld uphill, it will get you better penetration. Last thing you want is yanking on it and having the welds fail, could kill someone!

Good job modifying the bumper. Like Ron mentioned, always throw a blanket or coat over the cable midway and when you insert a cable hook put the open end up. That way if it comes loose it will fall to the ground.

Great job !!! There is nothing like cutting up a brand new part to make it better :) Throw you a heavy canvas tarp over the wench cable. About halfway down . It can save your windshield and possibly your life !! I have seen many cable bust loose and they do a lot of damage.

Yes always use something to put on the line Old shirt or vest It weighs the line down so it will not cause harm if it breaks

I used a 10x10 painters canvas cloth. The dirtier it gets the heavier it gets !! But you can still pack it away easily. What it will do is cause your cable to bundle up were you place the tarp. Works really well.

As soon as that drill spun I knew that had to hurt. I did that recently installing the 4" exhaust and intake through a band board for a noritz tankless. I like the mods to your old truck. The original Big Foot monster truck was based on the 80s e-250. My work truck is a 95 e-150 cargo van. I plan to one day convert it to a 4x4 using the front axle and suspension components off a early 90s f-250. We have one on our family farm that's on its second engine so I figure it will eventually be retired and I can scavenge it for the 4x4 components.

When I was growing up my father was able to do just about anything as far as fabrication, fixing, repairs and building just as you are. So of course I thought all men were like that and boy was I wrong. The good thing is though, even though I am a girl, I am very good with just about any project and actually have more tools than most men, lol.

You are fearless with that welder. I truly am impressed with your skills and like the vids you produce. The only downside I see with the bumper set up is that the LEDs ming get bashed by low hanging brush and bushes. Other than that you did a great job. ps....the music was pretty good. I enjoyed it.

I take better care of that tractor than I need to. Just because it's not painted is not an indication of how I take care of it. That might be the most used tool on my homestead. Paint would just get in the way and be a complete waste of money.
