Talking about brake upgrade, just get the CU2 Accord Euro front rotor (320mm) and calipers (twin piston), it's a popular upgrade on NZhonda forums back in the day and it's reasonably cheap from wreckers. Speaking of "family sedan", the Accord Euro was actually sold as a "sports sedan" in the USA as the Acura TSX, so there is that, its as sporty as the IS250 of it's day and that was marketed as a "Sports sedan"

Hey, how do you find the yonaka exhaust as I'm looking at the plm headers and yonaka catback for my type s cl9... you mentioned it had cracked already and needed repairing, is this because of the cheap build quality or did it take a hard hit at somepoint? Seems like having the plm headers with yonaka exhaust there is not a flexi flange for any movement
@KiwiCarLife3 жыл бұрын
Yeah lack of flexi is to blame. The plm will need welding at the test pipe and sealing at the slip joint. The yonaka is great quality, it just split at the back of the resonator because of vibration over time. I need to take it in and get another mount welded to the yonaka and get the header sealed but at that point it should be very reliable. It sounds great and makes good power too!

I dont think the k24 is holding it back though, people make crazy power out of those things. People also 4WD civics and intergras, but you'd need to do it yourself or it could get expensive. Would be worth it if the chassis is going to last, might be better than a modern car and be a classic in 20years😂
@KiwiCarLife3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's my point, the K24 is a great engine, it's just not a "cheap" engine to get power out of. To make the numbers you could get out of a 10 grand 335i, you'd need the same number just on the engine in an Accord at least not including the purchase price. I guess my point is that the Accord is a great chassis, but if you want something faster, you're better off looking down the euro scene because you'll be able to make much more power for less
@benjaminwingchun96653 жыл бұрын
@@KiwiCarLife 335i and 135i are over 20k here in Australia, and climbing. And you'd still have a front wheel drive at that point, but either way I think you've done great and your car is already fast enough for the street. also the k24 would be peanuts to replace or repair the motor next to a 335i.

Clickbait title, tsx counts as a sports sedan. Your talking as if it’s Buick LaCrosse.
@KiwiCarLife3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but this is not a TSX. It's an accord. Looks similar, but has a different engine, different interior... Your market is totally different. In NZ, an Accord is about the least sporty car you can get. We don't have boats like a Buick or Cadillac coz no one would buy them. A true sports sedan is like an ISF, M3, 335i, C43, Euro R, STi, evo, that sort of stuff... However, what I was getting at, is that compared with most other "family sedans" in it's class like mazda 6, 325i, legacy 2.5i, camry, and so on, this has genuine modification potential whereas most others don't.
