I get that you are pissed that I have insulted an artist that you are a fan of but you need to admit that as a person, she is not perfect ( none of us are) and has chosen to do and say some deliberately problematic things . Bullying is serious and the after effects can be debilitating and long lasting whether it is in person or on line. In truth, In High school Grimes and her group of friends did behave like bullies and elitists in their own right and she has said herself that during those times, she was "not a good kid". Back then she would insult and verbally attack girl she didn't like by calling them "fat" ( usually when they weren't) as well as judge and mock other students who were not affluent, or able to dress as fashionably as her and her friend group ( I guess they were not "cool enough" to matter in her eyes). She reduced girls to tears by cutting down their appearance, would belittle others and publicly embarrass them in order to get them to do what she wanted. I think anyone would agree that was a petty and shitty way for her to behave, but I realize that many Teenagers act and speak appallingly when they are in high school. l don't base my opinions of her art or personality based solely on her actions in high school; that would be pretty ridiculous and unfair. When you take drugs you can say and do some horrible things . Hopefully, People can grow and change for the better and develop into decent people as adults. ( Though according to recent stories from other artists, insulting people by calling them fat and bullying people to get them to do what she wants is still her current M.O.) What I Am saying is that she came from privilege, had her university paid by her parents and then CHOSE to deliberately become a "poor artist" ( a relative term) and deliberately put her health and safety at risk " for the sake of her art" the majority of people have not had half the privilege she has grown up with and any "suffering" was her choice and self inflicted. But I realize that I won't change the mind of a person who has such a narrow view and obsession with this specific celebrity. Her Mom is actually quite an accomplished person and has done a fair bit for the community during her time and from what little interactions I may have had with her brothers during that time, they were pretty normal but were young. Perhaps you should look into interviews with people from her previous labels [ask ANY OF THEM] ( her first label/manager also went to high school with us ) or listen to Interviews from other artists who have worked with her and described her behavior at times to be that of a bully. It is up to you if you want to believe the false narrative that Grimes is a perfect angel and has never shown, mean, petty, vindictive or rude behavior ( especially during a period of time when she has admitted to having a drug issue) instead of allowing her to be a complex and flawed, real person. It's sad that you insist on keeping her in such a limited box But I guess you can continue to insult me, when all I am doing is stating facts and writing my opinion ( which by the way, I have a right to; even if it differs to yours) As well as sharing some of my experience; even after admitting how talented I believe Grimes is and that I do enjoy some of her music. I am able separate the artistic work from the behavior and personality of the artist and not go into an aggressive meltdown when a celebrity who's work I enjoy is shown to not be the epitome of perfection. The beauty of comment sections is that everyone is free and allowed to write what they want and conversations can ensue. But it sounds like you might be the one who is jealous and scarily obsessed. I certainly hope not! And I really hope that you aren't that crazy fanatic old guy who showed up at her house after stalking her, screaming about going on a galactic trip with her. Nobody needs that type of "fan" in their lives! :0

I’ve never met Grimes and I like her older music but I wouldn’t really call myself a superfan or anything but- I miss this person? I don’t know how to explain it. I miss her for her friends and for herself, too. We all know someone whose identity was overshadowed by a different phase in life or a certain relationship it’s such a difficult, wistful thing to witness. I’m not saying that she isn’t happy now or anything because how would I know that- I’m just saying that she seems like a person coming into her own here, opening up to who she is, receiving a healthy amount of recognition for the thing she lives for. Now she’s mostly known for her relationship and her music and image seems to be a bit more studio controlled and she seems less genuine because of this? I’m sure someone will slap me with the “some people grow up” line but there’s something else.

@@agstinacueva1673 Absolutely, I agree Depression is terrible and debilitating. You also can't discount the fact that Grimes deliberately isolated herself in her bedroom and purposely avoided eating, social interactions and daylight during the making of one of her albums. she has said that she deliberately tried to make her self go crazy for the sake of her art during that time. While I will never discount the idea that she may have been actively suffering from depression, Even having the active choice of being able to deliberately go down that dangerous and unhealthy route and then advertise those actions to the media and her fans as a beneficial and edgy action of a true artist, is ill advised and dangerous. I cant help but see it as her choice to follow that route, rather than an involuntary set of actions due to depression. Depression isn't a choice and most people who struggle deeply with it would never actively choose to make themselves worse. She is beautiful and very talented, but even as fans, we have to be honest and admit that her choices and behavior have been problematic. I hope that now that she is a parent, she can focus on her health and her art and not trying to be seen as "edgy and Cool".

She'd like what my body used to do in the cold. In Missouri, it's not that cold but the temperatures change throughout the day, so you'll sweat, which is bad. I rode a bicycle. I didn't know that was a problem until I read it on a Russian site. I will say that when you get a fever and start hallucinating, that you will look beautiful and feel so loved by the stars and snow. Fevers are bad for people but I've had a ton and like them. I also didn't know it was bad if you got warm from it, so I'd take off some of my clothes, and people would ask about it. Oops. I've never been frostbitten. I coughed more than anything. I would become enraged sometimes and people would judge me as a bad person. Stupid people. It's like, if someone has those bloodshot eyes, you better run or not bother them. I just got personal attacks. Why are you so angry, God? It's like, you probably want to leave now.
