@lulicacharlottescott98875 жыл бұрын
yes she is so similar to me at that time and age (i'm a similar age to her) except that i then lost confidence in myself and tried to be normal and abandoned all of my creative endeavours and everything became dark and meaningless. i feel like she is a reflection of my more authentic self and she inspires me to get back to that kind of pure authenticity. relate to so much of what she says, like that she feels like she is seperate to everyone and feels a void between even her closest friends, and that creativity is her way of dealing with that (it was for me too and when i abandoned it i stopped being able to deal and 'lost my mind'), and how it is much more her than how she is in day to day life, the thing about liking music that sounds like it comes from somewhere else that you can't understand (why i love her), loving the sound of yearning in music and that she expresses yearning to get somewhere else she can't get to, liking the feeling of not knowing and floating in a void. watching this was a strange, beautiful and therapeutic experience. my dream is to start making music again and then collaborate with her... just let me dream ok ✨🦋

Yeah, guy on the left especially acting like shes not even there, ignoring what she says, turning his back, walking away, and then offering the other guy food (and not including her) infront of her face. Brought back a couple of unpleasant memories of my own. Hope she found new "friends".

Man I feel like that completely. It’s a constant state being, don’t think it’s something that can change. But that’s probably cause it’s likely a mild case of borderline personality disorder who grimes probably has. Dunno if I do but evidently it’s unusual.
@SpenserRoger4 жыл бұрын
@@KidsWithGuns1992 "not feeling connected to people" is like less than one tenth of the symptomology of BPD. I know very little about Claire but she definitely has quite stable and strong relationships with her family and friends. She makes a music video and song each christmas with her family members and brother. Her brother is involved in nearly every one of her music videos, and she has the same 4 reoccurring friends as back up dancers, etc in so many of her music videos. She used to show up in the vancouver and montreal area and shows all the time and show her music and converse with people. If she has any form of personality disorder it's sub clinical to the max. She's just portraying herself as the typical tortured artist. Her comments about feeling connected to people is just typical what it's like to be highly intelligent.

The end is so SAD. Showing someone your music is so personal and neither of those people gave a shit. I know the feeling. But she starts nodding to it anyway and that's how she made it to where she is today. She stepped the fuck up and believed in herself. In interviews she always says "it just kind of happened!" But from my point of view, it seems she unknowingly obliterated anything that came in her way. She's a strong person and I love her so much. She has such a deep belief in herself in a world where especially women are told to think twice about literally everything.

Being someone who loves writing music, singing, rapping, playing piano and guitar, discovering music, recommending music, and making playlists and having spent the first 18 years of my life living in a 300 something population town in Wisconsin, I strongly resonate with that ending scene and your analysis of it. People like her help me stay on track and spend time on what I love even if no one else gives a shit. I have my lock screen set as pictures of people that inspire me and she is consistently in the rotation. Tash Sultana is another super inspiring artist for me and any time I hear either of them talk I just want to go all out on my dreams and be as authentic as possible and the value of that is infinite. 💖

Sure, she’s no longer as awkward, enigmatic and relatable (loneliness/melancholy is very easy to relate to) but I think she’s just grown to understand herself better and embrace who she is. I think she understands now that she’ll never really feel like she fits in and that that’s okay; she’s not alone. I see Grimes and I hear her speak, and I can't help but feel sad in a way. I feel that I can understand her but then if I look deeper, I have this intense longing to have a mind that is creatively aligned with her's. The way Grimes is able to best communicate is through audible and visual art. I, however; feel as though I simply don't have the ability to do so. I think my creativity manifests itself in a much more linear way, that is to say, I am most capable of communication through writing. I have little passion for words, though, and I wish my time spent expanding my visual and audible artistic skills didn't always feel so wasted on me. I have trouble appreciating the otherworldly creations of my favorite artist without developing a yearning to create something just like they have. Grimes: I envy you, and that bittersweet emotion is what has and will always keep me coming back to your work.

This is one of the most beautiful and inspiring documentaries I've ever seen. I've recently come out of the music closet and I love playing and expressing this music inside of me, too. Thank you for capturing Claire in such awesome moments. I know singing is very vulnerable and takes courage. It's as if when we surrender to a higher purpose we become one with whoever is receiving the music. Blessings!

I could feel it, the sounds of her soul. It resonates on a very deep, intense, emotional level. It forces you to close your eyes, lock out the world, shut down everything that is going on around you and re-connect with your inner self. She shared a very primal, very private moment. All they had to do was listen, really listen. It gives you the feeling of floating in space or floating in the ocean, all by yourself. Far removed from all the noise of life. It reminded me of blue whale vocalization. Hardly audible to the human ear but very intense. Wild and free.

This doc is the most relatable thing i've seen.. the frustration over a proyect or goal you have... not able to connect 100% with close friends... the more i know about Grimes, the more i admire her ❤

Did that guy seriously get up right after she said “this ones good”, and proceed to offer baked goods to the guy deep in a book, arm right out in front of Claire & not even offer her any of the baked goods ?

Grimes please come back to Earth . You’ve spent too much time in the A.I dimension. We need you here on Earth . There is still a spiritual war going on and your magic is very much needed.

Same, it was so beautiful. It wasn't even her I was yelling at, it was the stupid doc editors that had the audacity to layer her speaking over her singing. Morons. Let the genius speak and then let her sing .... SEPARATELY!

3:27 (just thinking and writing) It fascinates me how people become who they are, especially when you get to see them after moving out from their parents. Sometimes when people look back on their childhood/ living with their parents it sounds like they are describing a relationship they would have had with teachers or some other authoritarian figure. It sounds like their parents and home was their shelter to take up that space for specified amount of time, not so they could leave and explode to become someone new but just to sit there and to respond to their environment around them. It fascinates me how a person like Grimes comes to be. Things that are way before their time are extremely hard for me to comprehend. How did they get the courage? What were people telling them? What were there parents like? What was the stage of the world and society? It’s crazy that each person is insanely unique and detailed in their thoughts.

What a gem! Thanks so much for uploading this lok! I'm a huge Grimes fan, and probably my favorite "era" of hers was the period from Halfaxa to Visions. And this mini doc is a great insight into that world she was in the midst of creating. Love it. :)

Like Grimes said, we never feel close to anyone, since we operate on another kind of level of thinking. Looking for likeminded people, I understand we are different and there are not many, so maybe this request is probably in vain. Nontheless I hope this shoutout can bring our giftedness together and would love to follow likeminded people. Feel free to reply for connection 💜

Hey. So glad to find comments like this. I feel reading comments like yours makes me feel like there are others out there who can't seem to find their people and even though we may be online we can be connected in some way. I just finished law school and I can't tell you how lonely it is being like one of us and having to just keep it to yourself bc no one else around you would even understand, much less care. I'm working on an album and a 6ftx9ft painting to accompany as album art and all the souls around me could care less lol ahhhh! Curious to know whAt you're deal is!

I remember the Challenger explosion like it was yesterday. In fact is one of my earliest memories of natiinal saddness..that I could see..that I was a part of. They rolled a box tv on a cart. My first grade teacher was excited...FIRST TEACHER IN SPACE!! I watched my teacher cry immediately as the Challenger fell back to Earth. The old couple standing in the crowd on television watching it live was that teachers parents. I didn't know that then. I don't know what led me to watch that footage about 6 months ago but that's when I found out. It's heartbreaking to watch them stand there confused. She deserved to see space through human eyes. Maybe her soul will somehow have another shot at it. If Grimes gets a peak with Sharon in her heart..it may be through some timeless Pangean human feeling that we all get to feel a little if we're plugged in to it.
