The photographer friend with the beard and mustache is actor Eddie Albert, very famous man who often played "best friend" characters, later in life was the lead in the TV comedy Green Acres [it was an hilarious show], and then often played villains in movies when older.

I first saw this with my two of my sisters when I was in high school. We cried at the end. In hindsight I now realize that this was her first romantic kiss and likely her last as she would probably have to marry someone she doesn't love. How sad. 😭 There's some other Audrey you might like: Sabrina (original); Breakfast at Tiffany's; Wait Until Dark. Some Peck: To Kill a Mockingbird; Gentlemen's Agreement; Guns of Navarone

I admire the ending of this great film. Even though the princess was under great stress and totally fed up, she expressed at several points her overriding duty to her country and her family. She wasn't on a mission to reject her role. She wanted to assert herself and experience life. It would have been a very different, and lesser film, if she somehow found a loophole and could get out of her duty.

3:34 I love how your expression here matches everyone else in her court once they notice her shoe 🤣! I positively love the opening shoe scene, as it really nails the movies as a sort of cinderella in reverse, complete with an iconic shoe loss scene.

Great video. Gregory Peck is an incredible actor, with an ongoing family legacy. His grandson, Ethan, currently portrays Mr. Spock on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Audrey Hepburn was sensational. I eagerly look forward to your further reactions. ❤️

Just by dumb luck or happenstance I watched this for the first time two days ago. Audrey Hepburn is magic onscreen and has an elegance and charm that very few actors (male or female) have ever enjoyed. I'm a huge Gregory Peck fan and, as usual, he never disappoints. The surprise for me was Eddie Albert, who I didn't even realize was in this film but gave a really fun performance. I hate to sound like a big sap but this is one film where I would have preferred a classic "happy ending" where they end up together. It felt a little empty with this ending. Another great reaction, Michal. Cheers from Florida.

In this movie the countess was Princess Annes lady in waiting or in modern terms executive secretary or chief assistant . She was almost like an aunt to the young untrained Anne and was beside herself when Anne became ill and also when she disappeared . In playing the official Princess Miss Hepburn was seen as her noble self . She won the Oscar by playing the princess in deguise doing ordinary things among the common folk including falling in love with handsome older man Gregory Peck .

YES! You SHOULD do movies that are picked by YOU! I wish more reactors would do that! Otherwise every reaction channel does the same movies over and over again! By all means, take suggestions and run polls, but absolutely pick movies for yourself (and please do it on a regular basis)! Love this movie, really excited to see this reaction!

I read somewhere that Eddie Albert did not like this particular film where he provided much comic relief even though he was Oscar nominated .

First, so happy you watched this wonderful movie. Second, glad to hear that you are starting a series of movies of your own choosing. Too often, because movie react channels can be driven by we the audience, there is a danger that they can start to look the same. There is over a hundred years of filmmaking from all parts of the world just waiting to be enjoyed. These channels are a great way to take that journey. May i suggest the 1987 German film "Wings Of Desire" directed by Wim Wenders as part of that journey.

I so agree! Even worse for tv series. Everyone reacting to the same ones. You can only watch an entire series so many times! I get it, the need for high viewer count content.... So reactors have to choose some popular ones... But not every single time. Someone has to break the Eternal Loop!

Look back pre 1970s and you'll see Romance and RomComs all over the place. Try some Cary Grant films you'll probably love them all... To start you off how about "The Bishops Wife". It's in tune with the season...

@@MichalZismanReactions Oddly enough, I just heard a quote that fits this story, perfectly: To see what we have never seen, to be what we have never been, to shed the chrysalis and fly, depart the earth, kiss the sky, to be reborn, be someone new: Is this a dream or is it true? Can our future be cleanly shorn from a life to which we’re born? Is each of us a creature free- or trapped at birth by destiny? Pity those who believe the latter. Without freedom, nothing matters. -The Book of Counted Sorrows

"I've never been alone with a man before, even with my dress on. With my dress off, it's MOST unusual." 😳 CONTEXT!!! 😳 Fun Fact: After filming, Gregory Peck informed the producers that, as Audrey Hepburn was certainly going to win an Oscar (for this, her first major role), they had better put her name above the title. They did and she did. Location Location Fact: Paramount originally wanted to shoot this movie in Hollywood. William Wyler refused, insisting it must be shot on location. They finally agreed, but with a much lower budget. This meant the movie would be in black and white, not the expected Technicolor, and he would need to cast an unknown actress as the Princess, Audrey Hepburn. Proper Scream Fact: In the famous "Mouth of Truth" scene, Audrey Hepburn's reaction to Gregory Peck's "bitten-off hand" was genuine. Just before the cameras rolled, Peck quietly told director William Wyler that he was going to borrow a gag from comedian Red Skelton, and have his hand hidden up his sleeve when he pulled it out of the sculpture's mouth. Wyler agreed, but Hepburn was not told. The scene was filmed in only one take.

🤔 UNFORTUNATELY this movie inspired almost every romantic comedy in the world, with the comedic third wheel best friend, the falling in love in one day trope, the hidden secrets they both have, HOWEVER 😞 they never could match it, they don't make movies like this anymore because it was special. This movie is so beautiful but also so goddamn heartbreaking 💔 because it's also realistic and life never ends the way it should. I won't spoil the movie for ya tho, just keep it close to your heart

Oh my god, this is my favorite reaction I've seen on your channel so far. There are a million reasons why. Wow. Isn't it great? But yeah, in the intro you're talking about how not every movie that people say is great is actually a classic! Some classics don't hold up, lots of movies the masses love are total crap, lol. PLEASE keep doing silver-screen era classics from time to time, you do them well, and there are so many great ones. Obviously you've already seen many. Have you seen Brando and Vivien Leigh in "A Streetcar Named Desire"? That's the movie that made him a star, Tennessee Williams script, super iconic, endlessly referenced in pop culture.....and yet not one reaction for it yet!!! The only Brando people do is The Godfather! Ooooo, didn't you do The Godfather? I'm going to watch that next!! Talk about a Roman Holiday! 😂 Best wishes from NYC to Tel Aviv!

Thanks for reacting to this wonderful film. It's one of my favorites. The music by Georges Auric is fantastic!!!! If you get a chance, check out the film, The Search (1948). It's about a segment of the European population after the WW2, that had no say in anything whatsoever.
