You bought a Drag Racing Car. Are you planning to change it to a Street Car? One of the best things about first Gen Camaro's is you can built a whole car out of a catalog like Year One. The floor board patching is real easy with just a basic Mig Welder. Looking forward to your restoration.

Looking forward to how the build goes for you. The rust on the rocker panel at the front can be a big repair. It can be like peeling an onion but layers of rusted metal. I did inner and outer rockers and full floor on my 67. It was a ballooning mess. My advice is order all the parts that connect to the rocker and return them if you get lucky enough to not need them. I can email pic's of the mess I got into if you want.

The seat adjuster chrome knob is on the left side center of the drivers seat. If it doesn’t work then the seat has to come out and all the rails will need to be lubed. In ‘74 I bought a 1968 Z/28 for $3,000. A friend of mine is the current owner. The passenger mirror was an option.

When you take the seats out it’s a good idea to tap on the floor with a pick hammer and take notice of if the sound changes. The floor could be thin enough that it might warrant new floor pans. I ran into this same issue on my cutlass last week and it didn’t even have any holes to begin with. Light tapping opened up a lot of holes.

Doris, it looks like your car needs a complete floor pan replacement. The good news is that they are available brand new and not that big of a job. Also, those glass pack mufflers are a totally cheap and horrible way to do the exhaust. You need to run tubing to mufflers in the rear of the car and tailpipes out to the back. And those drum brakes need to go! But you already know that. Looking forward to see what you do with this car.

As someone who has owned many Firebirds and F bodies over the years. Your headlight louvers are easily removed if you prefer to drive without them. Sadly, I personally will admit that it's probably better if you don't have a place to park it. But your car looks great and I'm very happy to see a classic a Timeless classic back on the road

Hey Doris... I have watched many rebuild on Classic cars even before KZbin. The problem with rust on the floor pan or any structural part is a big issue when it comes to old cars that rust easily. Every and I mean every show, showed them replacing the entire floor with sheet metal, stainless steal mental and welding the floor back. So they cut out the floor and weld back in a complete new floor including the center console. PS.. when is Chris going to put a ring on it?

The rust on the frame rail,looks to be mostly scaling and surface rust.You should be able to remove most of that with a wire brush,If the previous owner didn't install subframe connectors,that entire front frame can be unbolted and stripped down to the bare frame which makes it easier to clean up.Looks like mostly just little things.I would say you made a pretty good purchase.

No big issues from what you showed us. Sand around the holes and weld them closed. Then coat with POR-15. Get yourself some exhaust pipe extensions with turn downs before the rear axle. Fab up shifter enclosure and you'll be fine.

Your better off blowing the entire car apart, and redoing everything. You will find more issues im sure as you get farther into it. Seeing the other cars in your stable, your probably going to be underwhelmed with that small block in the car. Better off doing a restomod. Ive restored a few cars completely and be prepared to have patience, its a long long process if you do it all yourself. Good luck!

Ok, the pest is here... Camaros are subframe cars. A front frame and a rear frame, no connection in the middle. What you have there is a subframe connection kit, with a bar to retain the driveshaft if it broke loose under heavy acceleration. A subframe connection kit reduces body flex among other things. There are camaros with so much power they've torn themselves right at the point where the top meets at the bottom back corner of the quarter glass. Subframe connectors are a good thing for higher HP cars. The nuts on the clutch scattershield housing... something wrong there. The bolts or studs are all too short...not good. Yes, just new floor pans, minor fixes there and a good sandblast of the frame and recoat. The hideaway headlights are vacuum driven. New hoses, New diaphragms, check wiring all good! If you replace parts like taillight assemblies, that aren't broken, please don't throw them away, just sell them...someone will restore them because they're original. Anything original, yes, even that door trim, badging, gas cap thats original will always have more value than aftermarket stuff and people do want it! You are making me so jelly with the Camaro...should never have sold mine lolol. Good luck and be safe up under there lolol.
