Hi Matt. I am 75 years old and retired from the construction industry world 10 years ago. I have been a subscriber since I found your channel by accident about 2 years ago and never miss! My comment is about you. It is so gratifying to me as a man that tried to apply himself as much as possible for 50 years in the workforce. So to see you as a young man with the vision and the work ethic you have, whether on this build project or bringing equipment back to life, is very inspiring. I wish there were many more young men like you. You are credit to yourself - congratulations and good luck on the build as I watch from the retired section of the bleachers. Personal regards, stay safe and my best wishes to your family. Dennis Beamish Cambridge Ontario Canada

@downfour473042 жыл бұрын
@@JH-kj4id sheeps foot does do better in dirt than a smooth drum. Less surface area equals greater compaction. You can get away with a smooth drum but would want to do little less on your lifts.
@Military-Museum-LP2 жыл бұрын
@@JH-kj4id. The sheep foot penetrates the ground deep. The smooth drum seals the top only.
@gullreefclub2 жыл бұрын
@@JH-kj4id The feet on a sheep’s foot roller actually compress pockets of dirt together and as you roll back over them repeatedly the compressed pockets of dirt interlock together making a far better stable compacted surface. If you got a bucket of good compatible dirt and dumped all but 6” out and then used the end of a hammer handle to compact it by tamping it down in interlocking pattern and repeated that adding a few inches at a time and compacted each “lift” with the hammer handle until you filled the bucket you should be able to flip the bucket and get a nice hard cylinder of dirt that you could step up on without it collapsing (I don’t mean dance a jig but step up on) and if you took the same dirt knocked it all apart back to a loose material and used a disc of wood the size of the bucket and hit the disc with a hammer and filled the bucket in the same lifts and compact it with the disc chances are the cylinder of dirt would crack dumping it at and almost certainly when stepping on it. A smooth drum roller is for material like gravel that when rolled self interlocks and you want a smooth sealed surface on. Hope this explains it. Have a nice day.

The time lapse is great for watching, but it doesn't really represent the amount of work you are doing on this site. Really impressive Matt. Good on you and your friends.

Thank you for your showing the build up. The International ( Loadstar) we had the same break of steel at seam, on Dump joint. It was from using Dump basically the same size Dump, but it was a ( Sterling) it was from the Dump being a SNOW sander. With sander box on Dump. Lots of Sand and SALT loads. Not good cleaning after shifts or taking sander off. I found when I worked, just putting a good coat of ( fluid Film) Or just plan ( WD-40) coating metal dump hing points. Just a good coating on. At least on my Dump. It cut down or STOPPED the rust creap That cause the breaks on joints. But I worked with workers that knew the outfit was just going to BUY new dumps. That's were great savers of older Equipment like you come along. You buy the Trucks. Try and make them work again. I am so SORRY for the way people/workers treat Equipment. I hate seeing those breaks, on such a main dump component.

Coming from somebody that does not know anything about dirt work basically other than drive a truck and haul dirt. Y’all are simply amazing how y’all know how to do this y’all are amazing you have good work. I don’t know how long I’ve been a subscriber to this channel probably somewhere around eight months but I’ve gotten so addicted to watching this channel trying to make it my goal to watch every video you put out. I really enjoy your content. …..Tiny Houston MS

Good old "Rainsylvania ", I grew up there and one thing I dont miss is how much it used to rain. Now living in the west I wish we would get even a fraction of the precipitation the east gets. Nice work, cant wait to see the building go up! By the way, kind of surprised I'm not seeing any SWIPP, fencing along the creek.🤔

That area you got the fill dirt really helped save you a bit cash & where ready for the shop as much as you are because you will finally have a place to do your video's even in the winter ! What you saved on the dirt put it on insulation in the shop so you got a warm place to work this winter ! You might erven be able to put out 2 video's a week then !

Getting exciting seeing how far you’ve come along so far! So Im sitting watching this episode and the wife walks by and says “Lemmee guess, you’re watchin Diesel Creek again?!” I was like “Hows she know that, I have earbuds in and my phone is facing away from her!” Then as she pats her chest I glance down seeing and remembering I happen to be wearing my new merch “Diesel Creek” T-shirt so I started cracking up. “Pure coincidence darlin, I just grabbed this off the top of the clean clothes pile that just came up from the laundry lol.” She said “uh huh” as she walked away shaking her head… I told her “hey, just be thankful I’m not watching spider man wearing a pair spidey jammies,lol!!! See ya next vid Matt, thanks for taking us along! 👍🏼👍🏼 from this guy.
