Something more unique about Namibia is its people. You can say the whole of Africa is represented by Namibian people. We got our own Masai in the Himba people, while the Aavambo from northern Namibia represents Lingala-speaking tribes of Congo with language similarities observed. Tanzania and the proud people of the great lakes are identified in the cattle-rich Ovaherero people. Hadza tribes of the Eyasai Valley below the great mountains of Tanzania can be seen in the Kwe tribes (Kalahari Area, southern Namibia) with their similar click-laden dialect and their instinctive hunter-gatherer background. Not forgetting the close ties between the Ovimbundu or the Tcimbundu people living both in Angola and Namibia. The Sotho lineage is found amongst the southern Batswana tribe who makes up the Namibian tribes. Semi Bantu people, the Damara from whom the current president originates, whose countenance and demeanor can easily be confused with that of a Zulu or a Xhosa from South AFRICA. Silozi speaking tribes of the northeastern strip have relatives in ZAMBIA....................SO everyone welcome home!

From our shared history to the present relationship we have with Namibia I must say as a South African I'm very proud of Namibia...One thing that most people almost always confuse is that South Africa is a big brother to Namibia but it's actually the other way around,Namibia gained their independence first and became a full democracy in 1990 making the country 32 years old while SA got its democracy in 1994 making the country 28 years old.So Namibia I our big brother

WTF is German Namibian.....are you from Namibian or from Germany? If you’re from Germany 🇩🇪 just consider yourself as a foreigner.....The history of Namibian hurt me so much. We can forgives but we can never forget...the so called German are still holding lands in Namibian....These generations are here to change everything....I have seen a lot of white peoples claiming a land that doesn’t belong to them
@jce13922 жыл бұрын
@@blessed403 well I can't choose where or how I'm born as. I was born as 6th generation German in Namibia. We are culturally different from Germans who live in Germany. Similarly how Japanese Hawaiians have also changed their culture. I've met a lot of people who take out their anger on me because of what happened in the past. Eventhough I was just a kid coincidentally born in an African country. If people treated someone like this in Europe or America it would be seen as incredibly racist at least if the person wasn't white. If you or I hold a grudge equality will never come, if you treat people like shit just because of the way they look or their culture, you are the problem...that counts for both white, black and coloreds. I definitely noticed too that a lot of the older generations minds (white and black) are stuck in apartheid. Knowing the past and learning from it is the only way to move forward. Especially now when the government is selling large amounts of minerals and project to China should be the time to stand together, especially to protect the environment :(.

I wish All Nigerians can be well spoken like this brother Steven, I know no one is perfect but Nigerians got huge potential specifically when you look at intellectuals, athletes, actors etc Nigeria has produced. Wake up Nigeria dont let your name be tainted. I know how this brother felt like to be scrutinised at an airport but Namibia and Botswana are very strict hence low crime levels.

Namibia looks alot like South Africa. As a traveler myself I've noticed most countries in the South are very similar, most in East Africa are very similar and most countries in West Africa are similar too
