I believe that the purpose of limiting the number of brush strokes, like limiting the time to 30 minutes or something, is to emphasize the need to make every stroke count. It doesn't really matter whether you use 30 strokes or 300; what matters is that each brush stroke counts, that it has a purpose in building up the painting. They just want you to think about your brush strokes before you make them. You did that, so from that perspective your exercise was a success. Congratulations!

Thank you. Yes I would like to try it again. I gained a surprising amount of info. I definitely didn't think enough to begin with and a few of the pallette knife marks were questionable. But I could see the worth in an exercise like this for sure. As always I appreciate your support.

Well Hazel, it's worth a try. It's interesting, it makes you think. I will try it again soon as it helps you think about planning and colour mixing

That is a very interesting little challenge. There is an old covered bridge on the other side of town that I want to go paint at some point. It will probably be a few weeks before I can get out there though. Whenever I have daylight hours without rain (rare the past few weeks), they are taken up by home maintenance (I love being a homeowner, but it is A LOT of work to keep the house in good repair) If I do make it out there to paint though, I may have to try doing two paintings, one my normal way and one in limited strokes like this one. In the mean time though, I have half a dozen or so unfinished "studio" paintings that I can work on at night or on rainy days.

Sounds like you have plenty to do! I have a build up of paintings for the studio. I think I will start a series of videos on them this winter

Yes I think 50 would be better. I did do a 30 min challenge in one of my videos. Thanks for your comments.
