I'm not religious, but i went right through my twenties without any relationships with women. I had been brought up with the notion to 'be yourself' and 'it will happen when it's supposed to' and 'you can't make it happen, you just have to get on with your life and it happens when you're not looking for it etc. etc.' When i reached my early thirties i decided to change that and get out and meet women. It's not about being alone or lonely.. Having a partner relationship is healthy for so many things. Humans are social animals this close bond can be mentally stimulating and tactile touch releases endorphins and dopamine response. Waiting past 30+ will make it difficult because you won't match well on one person. You haven't gained the experience of relationship dynamics. You haven't experienced what it's like to have someone else around you need to accommodate. You'll make more selfish choices rather than inclusive ones. You are setting yourself up to fall into a bad situation.. and since you are so comfortable being alone, when you do decide to date the other person is going to feel that you are cold and distant because you haven't developed the traits to have a close bond.

My older brother were born 1953 to 56, and i and younger brother 1968/70. Growing up, my brothers never had girlfriends ( or even talked about girls ) and they went to a school with girls up to age 18. I was always waiting for them to get a girlfriend so that i could learn from them, but it never happened. I got the impression that my parents thought that myself and my four brothers were better off without being in relationships with women, just leading an independent life. They met in 1950 ( a different world !) and i think that as time went on, they became dissolusioned with modern life and how their ideal of family life in society was breaking down.

See the thing is, having these 'ethics' was alright in the past when most people are doing the same thing, you were doing what everybody else was doing, but now things are different. I'm in the UK, and my parents met in 1950. I think then, people would meet in a 'group' social setting or at least in the same way as an 'ordinary' friend, then if you decided to 'go out' with someone, that was basically saying you've picked who you were getting married to. There was no going back ! ( so at that time, there wasn't an 'dating' ) I went right through my twenties thinking that i would just go from nothing to wife, for some reason, and that if i even talked to a girl before that, it would some how damage this ideal.

I think the biggest issue is how society looks at dating nowadays. The whole point of dating before was because you were interested in that person and saw them as a potential partner. Now it seems like people look at dating like it is meant to be temporary instead of a logical step towards marriage. Also dating does not mean you are sexually intimate, though now it seems that is what it's purpose is. It's sad really. People should go into dating a person with the idea that the end goal is marriage. Maybe it works out or maybe you find out you just are not compatible with that person.

My older brother is 71, and he doesn't have any children either. If he wanted to start a family, he'd have to find a woman 35 years younger than him !

If time runs out to get a guy and have kids it's not the end of the world. Regarding finding the right guy if the the pool is polluted forget it and don't drink the water out of desperation.

Nothing wrong with saving yourself for marriage and following God’s rules. But statistically it’s better to get married young. What has she being for 10 to 15 years????? But if she’s looking for husband or family yeah after 35 is iffy and after 40 for woman is statistically not good. But hey Sarah in Bible had a baby at old age. But crazy thing is men can children into they’re 60’s some even 70’s!!!! Modern women are trying to have a family far to late in life! They’re prime years 20 to 35 they’re wasting. While men’s prime years are 30 to 45 or even 50 in rare cases.
