@@dexjs can u do a video of common problems with the 97 grand Cherokee limited with the 5.2 and awd? I got one I daily and I’m a mechanic of 22 years and I’m thinking it’s transfer case chain but I’d love a video with common issues , mine , when u turn , it sounds like a chain skipping teeth and it feels like it’s binding up.. almost like a welded dif making a u turn

Im with you on the whole back n forth wanting a one ton XJ & stock XJ. After more than 25 years I FINALLY got a one tonXJ just to miss my XJ on a stock 30/8.8 on 35s that kept up with the one ton group i wheeled with.

Man I've been watching for a while and i will say that i Drag raced a 73 Duster 400 plus 360 1/4 mile and1/8 using the 8 1/4with 391's and you are not wrong about the strength of that rear, I kept thinking of going with an 8 3/4 rear which is stronger but I never really found a reason to do it, great channel brother, i love it 👍👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅

I like the sleeve and front tube brace setup. That's sweet! However, I would build a back brace into the cover. The reason being is that when you are on the throttle hard bouncing up an obstacle, the rear of the housing casting is under a huge amount of tension, trying to rip it apart. A full length bolt on back brace (pads welded to tubes) on its own would add more strength in this critical area than the front brace and sleeving combined.

Maybe buy a Arcdroid and just start making your own new hd brackets.Then way less time wasted cutting off factory tin ones.

Id recommend getting some nickel 99 rods and a good preheat for welding mild steel to cast. They can definitely still crack but I’ve had good luck with them on all the axles i build. I got a 60 in the shop right now out of a tj that’s snapped in the axle tube

35:00 those ears are for an NVH vibration dampener. Comes on the liberties. I have a liberty 8.25 in my zj with tri-4 and used those bolt holes to tie the truss into the housing.

Well definitely learned you can brace above the the pinion and be 4 linked.

@Yelladog782 күн бұрын
If your welds won't hold to the cast get a stick welder & super nicast55 rods and she'll hold then, remember preheating helps

Pinion snubber mounting pads. Made for a rubber bump stop to mount on so the pinion doesn’t fit the floor pan of the car.

Hay dex just a Lil food for thought, Have you ever thought about building a table with Jack stands made on it. Roll it under the jeep when taking out a rear-end or front end to help you?
@Unplanned-disassemblyКүн бұрын
I might of missed it but do you have a video about your tow jeep?
@thehouseman812 күн бұрын
You have to pre heat cast when welding to steel then do a control cool down. Lots of vids on the tube. If not you crack stuff like you did. Good work though man
