What an exciting challenge! 🛠 The idea of taking an abused Polaris Sportsman and transforming it into a reliable workhorse for cheap is both ambitious and inspiring. It’s amazing to see how you’re working through the repairs and bringing it back to life. The creativity and resourcefulness involved are impressive! Can’t wait to see the final result. 👏🔥

The michael sabo and Cameron combo is awesome. You guys work so well together. Camerons knowledge on atvs/utvs is second to none. He has physically seen so many machines taken apart that he knows so much about them. Would love to see a Grizzly 600 or 660 taken back from the dead and given a second chance at life when you get back from your holiday break!

Make sure to check the oil pressure relief valve. On the 800 engine it's known to stick closed causing a high pressure and blowing the oil filter seal or sticking open causing low oil pressure cooking the crank and cam

This is the type of build project id personally like to see more of. Of course I like the huge ground up project but sometimes its nice to see a budget wheeler go from bad to more than respectable. It relates to our projects are and its cool to see how cheap you can get a "nice" quad/dirtbike with some work. Mike, i deff think you should add a "quick flip" playlist where you do budget buy and sells. Maybe even some of you subscribers would be able to buy a Mike Sabo machine.

Nice video, I had ATV’s a long while and I finally decided to make the jump and purchase my first brand new one! I got the 2024 Yamaha Kodiak 700 SE with a plow from my local dealer and let me say it’s amazing! The power, the comfort of the ride, power steering, definitely a nice machine. I was looking at Polaris as well I had a sportsman for a short period it was an older model like this one I think an 08 I don’t really remember the year but it gave me nothing but problems with the electrical, the carb, the wheel bearings if it wasn’t aligned just right, it was just a bit much so I gave it to my friend and he still uses it but mainly he rides his Yamaha and he let me borrow it for a day on my property, I own 82 acres of mud, gravel, wetlands, streams and creeks, i put it to the test lol 😂 and I was really impressed! My sportsman did it fine but with the constant carb issues it would “choke up” going up steep hills and then stall out going down them, so it was time for a change. Before I got my Kodiak I had a Facebook special Yamaha warrior 350 with reverse and that was a unit! Not as much fun as the 4x4’s but it was a blast in my open fields to let it eat! I then gave that one to my friend and he still uses it as well! 😂 I was also looking at the can am 1000’s the sportsman 1000’s and the CFmoto 1000’s and I couldn’t really justify the high price point for an ATV so I decided that Yamaha was a better choice and they offered me a 10 year warranty on the belt! Very cool video tho!

Nice quad for the $. The earlier 800,S had dusk exhaust from the factory as it was their top end big displacement machine. Polaris uses a Hilliard front differential, which uses an electro magnet to engage their role type clutch. Once x4 is selected it simply engages and disengages when the rear end slips. No need to stop snd allow it to engage.
@GaryToland17 күн бұрын
Great find! And yes $2k is definitely worth it for that machine. That would go for much more in Northern Utah. I have bought 2 machines now for $800, 1 needed an engine and 1 didn't, its hit and miss but that's the name of the game.

The foot board is ent because it was probably boarded from the left side. All the riders weight was put on the board Well , you don't see that very often, a guy test riding without all the ricky racer throttle blipping. Just nice reasonably good throttle control You'll have to put stiffer springs in the front for snow plowing, shocks are not necessary

Utility Quads are great! Much more comfortable to ride and still plenty fun. My favorite is my Kawasaki Prairie 700. Its a 700 V-Twin, 4wd, Solid Rear Axle so more sporty around the trails, Front Locker. Throw a 2" lift on it and some 28's and youre set. Oh and it wheelies all day long.
@dellstudio1017 күн бұрын
I got a KFX 700 and yes they wheelie easily with all that torque. Clutching seems to be dialed in perfect on the Kawi V twins from the factory. I see no reason the change it. Open the throttle anywhere at anytime and it just pulls or wheelies.
