Yeah, I was pretty gutted when the whole DriveTribe platform sort of died. I was particularly irritated that I never managed to make anything of my short tenure as DriveTribe's most eccentric poster. I never even met the chaps or visited the office! I was supposed to go to the big party thing at the start, but my wife said I was too busy. I kept thinking I'd call into the office, but I was never actually in London for anything during that time. I'll still take that 'Well Done' from Richard and James for my 2017 article of the year but... Yeah, I could have made more of it. I should have made more of it. I should have taken on more of the 'requested' articles rather than just pouring the mush that came out of my ill-functioning brain on the day... I don't think it helped that part of the way through mum died of cancer, then we had covid and lockdowns and stuff and I ended up spiralling into a near-suicidal hellpit of anxiety and depression. Then it turns out I have ADHD, as well as some somewhat autistic traits... I miss it though. I feel like maybe it was the wrong time? The concept for DT was really good, it seemed to work really well at times but I feel like the whole motoring landscape has changed. Maybe it's because Jeremy, James and Richard have already done pretty much everything that was worth doing to do with motoring, maybe it's because we're living in a world of electrics and hybrids by necessity and cars are generally 'dull-as-wallpapering' shopping trolleys or school-run taxis with about as much character as a Zanussi washing machine.... I dunno. I really enjoyed your cheap holiday thing where you did the three holidays in three days. That was a great clip. I'll definitely keep a look out for your travel videos. Not sure I'll be watching the 'behind the scenes with James May' stuff as he recommended me a car and owning it has left me with a somewhat unfortunate decision to make.

I was worried that you would not be able to survive but your past the 50K subscriber stage which seems to be the point individuals can go full time. Its seems like channels need about 50K subscribers for each full time creator. To bring in the revenue. Whilst the first hire a KZbin channel seems to make is often a video Editor to split the workload followed by camera crew & writers. Personally I think Linus Tech Tips did the sensible thing and first brought in an advertising/brand managment to handle the back end business and finance. Only then did they invest in hacking, shooting & cutting. Any thoughts given that you started in social media managment?

Really great to also see you back on your own channel 😍 So does that mean you no longer work on WHAT NEXT as well or only DRIVE TRIBE. If so, James will not be able to make his food stuff on WHAT NEXT channel anymore, not as good anyways. I really look forward to your new projects here on this channel and else where ❤️👌🏼

Some of the best stuff that came out of DriveTribe was actually FoodTribe - You and James, the bug out bunker. Just trying old sandwiches. The chemistry you two have is hilarious and hoping for more stuff like that in the future. Thanks for basically carrying DT on your back, before you it was just re-watermarked Instagram clips.

I've been retired for a couple of years now, though still doing the occasional contract gig. One thing I learned and put into practice early on is that if you stay in the same place, you are effectively moving backwards. That's fine when you are old and nearing the end of your professional life. When you are young, however, moving around often is the best path to gain a maximum of new experience in your chosen field, or in any other field for that matter. Obviously, DT without Lucy Brown will not be the same and perhaps it will be less interesting. Lucy Brown without DT, however, holds lots of promise. A good reason to stay tuned.

As a person who is very self-conscious about themselves, watching the way you've grown more comfortable in front of the camera over the past 7 years has been a great motivator. I can only imagine how difficult it was for you to push yourself to the point where you are now able to self-shoot and edit travelogues by yourself. FoodTribe with you and James just being yourselves was some of the best content I have ever seen, in all sincerity. Wherever you go next, you're going to do an excellent job. I could see the talent you had when first viewing your Vlogs. You have shared with us early on that some of your goals were to be more comfortable in front of the camera and make better videos. You have exceeded those goals beyond expectations. I am with you Lucy on this next chapter. Could it be a visit to the area in France where you went to school? Seven years is a long time! That's great experience though both in the direct adventures as well as all the filming technicalities behind the scenes. That should help immensely with your own channel as you forge a new path forward. :) Your very honest approach to things will be great whatever it is you decide to do. Perhaps one neat travel consideration would be my home nation, Canada. With provinces and territories that are often larger than most _nations_ on the rest of the planet, the environment, sights and culture vary immensely in this country.
