If I were to sell clothes on eBay, which I don’t want to, but if I did, I would do it this way and I would probably have more listings than 99% of other sellers and six months.

I watched a video forever ago of a lady who sold clothing and she put clothes on a mannequin with a corner white background and lights. If I remember correctly she took pictures front, back, tag .. if I was just doing pictures I would take notes of measurements then take a picture of those notes and that would be my divider. At the time the number she said she did a day and listed I thought was a crazy amount. Chinese model Tiantian An record was doing full photoshoots with 485 different outfits in a day with way more than 5 pictures I would assume. A mannequin with camera already set up should go fast. 6k listings a month would be rigorous .. working 40 hour weeks thats getting, sorting, pictures, listing, packaging and shipping 37.5 items per hour... doable of course.. you would have to have those processes down pat and everything templated.

Walter, how do you print the labels for an envelope/flat? If I sell a postcard or a vintage ad or something on eBay it only gives you the option to pay for ground advantage. How do you figure out, say, a 3 oz large envelope/flat? And print postage?? Thanks man!!

I use a 6x4 thermal label. I don’t think those items are categories that fall under eBay standard envelope. You could use stamps.com or any of their direct competitors to bring a flat for $1.18 (I think) but it would not have the same properties as eBay standard envelope regarding tracking and insurance.

Do you believe that one should have a separate store for different categories such as clothes, sports cards, vintage jewelry, etc. OR is it ok to just have everything in one store? I want to branch out from clothing and would hate to start another store considering I have over 4000 positive feedback but it seems when I list anything besides clothing it doesn't sell ...

I don’t think it matters for search visibility. If I list 3000 postcard, I sell more of everything in my store. There’s probably use cases where have one type or item makes more sense when doing promotions, or your own in-house analytics, but that occurs on a as-needed basis and I wouldn’t make it the rule.

I'm surprised by postcard sales. I wouldn't have guessed it would be a big market of buyers. Who is buying these and for what reasons?
@WBKnoblock

I honestly don’t know, for sure. I have it narrowed down into a few groups but this is only based on speculation. I think there’s people who collect postcards as a hobby, people who collect artifacts from certain locations or geographies, people who collect them as art, and people who have a relation to the person mentioned in the postcard writing or the person/feature in the postcard image that they have an interest in but that interest does not expand to other postcards.

I like the way you think Walter. Have you tried (i'm sure you probably have) pulling all the comps you can (sold and listed) and doing an average as a pricing algorithm? Maybe even average from all solds + all listed minus a certain percent to ensure you are on the low side of the market and adjust for the idiot factor.

Yes, I bet this would work for something like cell phones or maybe certain video games that are really high quantity where you can reasonably take out any outliers or cut off the edges just to consolidate data but for postcards, especially keyword intensive postcards. The sample size is too low to accurately do this at least in my experience I mean, I certainly will try again.

You can’t do 6000 clothing items a month that’s not humanly possible with 1 person. Even technsports did 120 a day which is only a little over 3000. Why are you hypothesizing on a category you’re not in ? I listed 110 clothing items 2 days ago and it took like 10-12 hours. Maybe give advice on postcards and not clothes

@@WBKnoblock you didn’t say that in the video dude, why are you acting like I’m in the wrong for calling you out ? Just because I could list 20,000 baseball cards in a month I’m not gonna make assumptions about another category. Admit to your mistakes and you’ll learn quicker.
