Great job with the Magneto 1.0 and now the 2.0! I’m a long time Jeep owner, I currently have a 2018 JLUR (manual), and I’m waiting on an all electric Wrangler with decent range for my next vehicle. The day you offer it, I will place my order, and I’m sure there are many others out there just like me. Bonus points if you offer it in a manual. I will also say, I don’t need the extreme hp/torque, I’ll would prefer 300hp and 300 miles of range over 650hp and 200 miles (or less) of range. Hearing that the Wrangler 4xe is the #1 PHEV, just proves that if you build it, they will come …

I couldn’t agree more. I am on my 5th Wrangler, and NOT because they have ever given me troubles (just life circumstances). I don’t use them for off-road at all. I am in love with the form factor (and occasional 4x on icy conditions). So I am top-down, doors-off for 6 months out of the year in Nashville, TN. The MOMENT an EV Wrangler with 4x4 (should I even have to say that?) is offered in a decent range with a manual transmission (all mine have been manual) at a reasonable price, I will factory order mine and have it wrapped in the specific plaid that is my family Scottish Tartan. My dream car is an EV Wrangler in plaid.

@@billybobbob3003 yup, no argument against that for overlanding. For a day of wheeling, 100 miles of off-road range would be more than enough for a sunrise to sunset day of wheeling in Moab, assuming you could actually get that much range out of one. I love the idea, and its super nice to see a concept that I might want to purchase (if it has enough range), though it may need a solar panel on the hood to help extend that range. Big pluses are... 2 Doors, Dana 60/80, and 40's on bead-locks. Though for here in Alaska it would need a hard top, and enough power to maintain not just mobility/range, but also to keep the occupants warm at -40F while still maintaining enough range at those low temperatures to travel 400 miles (that's what is needed for Alaska use). And that's the real kicker... maintaining that range on an electric in cold temps while also powering the cabin heaters to keep the drivers alive when batteries are notoriously less efficient at those temps. Because breaking down somewhere 50+ miles from any charging facility at -40 could be life threatening if one runs of juice. And in the winter, when it's cold here, is also when we have the least amount of daylight, thus less solar energy to gain to recharge. And that is why a fossil fuel Jeeps will still going to be needed in sub arctic and arctic area's for some time to come.

Well you'd need about a 90 kw/h battery pack to have that type of range out of a jeep. You'd also have to do something interesting with the motors. You'd either need 4 motors (one for each wheel) or keep the axles and have them driven by a motor each so you could have adequate traction. A true 4 motor jeep with a 90 kw pack and you'd be over 100k.

This was one of the main deciding factors of why I got rid of my gladiator and didn’t purchase another one. I know I could add aftermarket one but I prefer factory options and not having to instal one myself as do many. And finally I think everyone can agree on one topic and that’s affordability, most people can’t afford 40k plus so it would be nice to have an affordable option with the new and upcoming without feeling like you are having to settle or worse not purchase a jeep. My comment to Jim and the wrangler team is that I love all the new tech, and I'm excited for the future. But please!!!! Keep the old school experience around as an option as well! Though it may not be the biggest seller, as long as naturally aspirated manual transmission wranglers exist, there will be those who will buy them. I recently ordered and purchased just that instead of the Bronco specifically because it was naturally aspirated despite the price of a similarly equipped bronco being way cheaper.

It's good to see this concept in a 2 door but, otherwise, it feels like the 2 doors are being left out of the best in production. While it makes sense to make sure that the 4 doors are covered since that sells much better than the short Jeeps, the 2 doors are the heritage of the company and there will always be a segment that is "2 doors or no doors".

Take the 4xe seriously. Make sure it isn't crippled in comparison with other powertrains. For example the Wrangler 4xe computer is limited to 4.50 gears, so even the 4.88s from Jeep can't be used, which in turn makes 37s+ a problem. Offer the Xtreme Recon package with the 4xe. Make the (likely) upcoming Rubicon 20th Anniversary package available with the 4xe.

I have a 4xe Rubicon and I would ideally love a Wrangler Rubicon with even 500/500 but with 400 miles of range and a LEVEL 3 CHARGER!

If Jeep was too offer a 2 door electric Wrangler I would be at the dealership faster than a Hellcat while also dragging everyone I know with me. That would be the perfect drive around the tight city vehicle and tear up the Michigan mud and dunes on the weekends vehicle!

One big thing Jeep brand needs to hear. Give us the option to select the best factory suspension parts on a base model. We want Rubicon capability without the LUX package. We want a Wrangler we can get dirty without having to worry about the heated leather seats and NAV. We like half doors and rubber floors, and please please figure out how to get the factory mirrors off the doors!

wonder if some active aero fenders or active front air displacement could improve highway efficiency compared to usual brick-in-the-wind aerodynamics. Looking forward to wrangler EV

I really hope they keep the single motor. Those independent motors on the hummer and Rivian just don't pencil out when you wheels start bobbing in the air. I won't be too mad if they switch to a single speed transmission as long as they keep a two speed transfer case.

Well Jim if you're reading this I want the renegade 4xe in North America!!! We don't all want massive vehicles, but still want something efficient that'll handle FSRs and the like

Sounds just like my 1/6 scale WW2 jeep. LOL. I love that you don't want to talk about the distance in the electric vehicle. What is the typical distance covered in MOAB on a tank of gas? What percentage distance can this vehicle make? Carry a spare can of gas? Maybe a spare battery?

With those tires that brick like shape and only 70kwhs? Might go 100-150miles, half that off road though probably. Also yes they make man portable pack's of 3-8kwhs you can take along with you like a spare "gas can"

That thing is sick. 4Xe needs to land in the Gladiator and the Grand Cherokee L now and/or electrify the hurricane motors for the other Jeep products…but please don’t detune those power trains 🙏🏻 Love the Jeep brand 💪🏻💪🏻

Well to be fair, the current 4xe are electrified hurricane engines (the 4 cylinder is the same hurricane architecture).

THIS. Is exactly what I want. I don't need 40s or 60s, but fully electric and with a stick (assuming it actually adds some value) would get me into the showroom immediately.

There's no way it needs that many gears, but having two ranges plus an entire manual transmission in it should help everyone figure out which 2 or 3 gears are the most useful. And it helps get gearheads on board by having an actual old school manual.

Just drove our Wrangler from Yuma to Tacoma in two and a half days. I think the dead time in an EV would have made it hell. The remote sections through northern Nevada would have been impossible.

You could have range extender portable battery packs that could be removed at the site to reduce weight. I do that with my e mountain boards.

I'm hoping we can see a 2-door wrangler with a serial hybrid powertrain; i.e. fully electric drive with an onboard gas "generator" to keep the battery charged for those long distance backcountry adventures.
