I think it's a really cool vehicle. But honestly 90% of the off-roading that any of these will see that are sold is hopping the curb by accident in a mall, or a Whole Foods parking lot.

Yeah in your logic we should all live in a jungle or middle of a desert inorder to justify buying any off road vehicle? Same argument can be made for any sports car. At the end of the day most of what we buy are wants not needs!

@@davidmitchell5638 how am I wrong though? In my comment I said 90% not 100%. That 10% might be the people that live in a jungle, desert, mountains, or basically anywhere with rugged terrain. The Hummer brand specifically has always been categorized as an off-road luxury brand. I hope that some of these will actually be used as off-road vehicles considering the amount of off-road technology that has been packed into them. It's a shame to buy a vehicle with all this technology just to turn into a f****** mall crawler.

@@davidmitchell5638 I purchased a Colorado ZR2 for all of its off road capabilities, as a utility vehicle, and also for the look of it. I'm not going to lie it's more 80-20 on-road/off-road use. I use it as a daily on road the majority of the time, but when I get the chance I love to take it to off-road parks and really test out the offroad features of the vehicle.

At 9,000 lbs, desert is the only place it wouldn’t sink. What ever you do, don’t take it mudding. It will sink to the bottom of the bog. Don’t take it in the deep snow, you won’t see it until spring.

Over the last decade or more, truck manufacturers have gone to extreme lengths to lighten their trucks to make them more capable, handle and brake better, tow more, haul more, and be more efficient. We're talking about aluminum engines and bodies, composite beds, light weight high strength steel frames, etc, etc. And the media bragged them all up, claiming them to be way better than the heavier models. Now all of a sudden these very very Heavy monsters are so awesome, what happened??? Are all the virtues of lighter suddenly meaningless?, were they all along? what tires are they using to keep them usable and capable to haul anything?, Lots of questions need answering.

It can't and would never be half the price since GM botched the engineering on this and make it super inefficient, which required lots of batteries which made it even heavier and even less inefficient. While people rail against the $112,000 price tag and the lack of paint colours, I say this is JUST THE START! If you put it on a 4-year (48 month) lease for your personal company, your payments are $2400 per month which is now a tax deductible expense AND with depreciation, your end-of-lease buyout will be less than $15,000 and you will get $7000 back from the federal government for an EV purchase and some states will give you $2000 to $6000 back so your buyout is now mostly paid for! To customize this truck, put a full-colour Vinyl Wrap on it like Mossy Oak Camouflage, Solid Red, Blue, Black or even Army Green. Add a custom rear truck bed canopy with lockable side compartments and roof rack. Then add a rear swing-out cage for the tires and TWO 80 lbs propane tanks and add some bush bars with winches front and back and I would even spend money on a no-noise propane fuel cell that can recharge the Hummer WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING! That means your range goes up to 1000 miles depending upon propane tank size which you can also use for the portable BBQ and campsite hot water sink/shower system. V

To be honest I like it and when you boil down the cost for what you are getting, build quality, features, decent range it works out better value than a same spec Tesla and can do much more. Tesla have lower build quality, an unjustified high price for what they are, poor customer service, can remove features you've paid for with no warning and they can be funny about you wanting to repair your car, instead wanting to sell you a new one. This Hummer makes a far better EV and few people will take them off road anyway.

If you can pay $120,000 retail for a Hummer EV, you can afford to goto your local modder and pay to put a decent Canpat/Marpat/Mossy Oak Cammo pattern or a full-colour Red, Green, Blue, Black or Gold High Density Polyethylene or Vinyl wrap on the car which you can take off at any time! V

So how much battery did you burn through on this filming adventure? .Why does no one touch in that. If I’m paying 6 figures I want to know how far it goes if I go trail driving. I realize it depends on where you are and what mode you’re in but if ALL could actually include what the mileage was and what it ends up being when you stop to talk talk talk after a feature or mode is highlighted and demonstrated that would be extremely helpful.

Its cool but I didn’t really see anything challenging with the trail they had you take it on and the crab mode just seems so gimmicky.

@@shitloveaduck Lol. 🤡 To call rear wheel steering capabilities on a pickup truck a “gimmick” in a world where Rivian will sell you a tent to attach to your R1T is *LAUGHABLE!* It only makes y’all look like the CLOWNS y’all truly are. As demonstrated in every off-road review of the Hummer EV released with the last 10 days, the rear wheel steering was impeccably developed and is helpful both on-road _and_ tremendously useful off-road and they’re not just telling you both demonstrating this and y’all still can’t figure out why it may be more useful than a tent while you’re off-roading. There is no logic there for you. What’s stopping y’all from calling 16-inches of ground clearance a “gimmick”, or tri-motor AWD a gimmick? Lol. Did you read the title? *9,000 lbs of Off-Road Crushing High-Tech Magic* straight from the guys who know trucks and off-roading very well. Y’all are so MAD about it! Why?? Well, we KNOW why.😂🤣

It's mentioned that being 9,000 lbs is not a good thing when going over obstacles or on loose soil and I'm curious as to why. Since it can simulate dual lockers is the weight still relevant?

I didn’t want to like the new Hummer EV, but if I am being honest I am absolutely obsessed with it. I would rather have this over the Rivian R1T. Seems like it has character which I really appreciated

Maybe it's just me but the way it sounds like it's crushing the road and how fast the wheels spin when it looses traction before traction control kicks in feels a little awkward to me
